Get a grip. Flood said exactly what he was supposed to say. Of course, he knew nothing about his job being in jeopardy but had a mini-speech on his accomplishments. He stuck with the positives abut the game, credited opponent, gave Laviano stats, going put recruiting tomorrow. Dissed all his detractors by claiming ignorance about his job status. Was supremely confident.
Just what recruits want to hear. Same for Barchi and JH, and anybody on the fence. Built in excuses of youth due to player injury and "unavailability'. All the experience coming back. Excellent recruiting class.
Did you want him to list his inadequacies? Talk about all the blowouts? Record setting defense? Say how scared is is about his job? Get real. A good litigator could make a terrific case for retaining him. I want him gone, but it may not happen. And he's not going to pull the trigger or make it easy..
The case has either been made or it hasn't by now. Just a matter of getting all the ducks in a row and acting on it. Let's hope it's not the "same old Rutgers."
