Thoughts on James Franklin listed as 9th best coach in CFB?

Sabans sigs are the rings on his fingers. Now you’re being daft
Over the past decade, Alabama's most prominent and memorable wins in football include their five national championships (2009, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2017), six SEC Championship victories (2009, 2010, 2012, 2015, 2017, 2020), and a streak of 15 consecutive seasons with a top-10 ranking.
“It’s the games marked as guaranteed losses .”
You moved the goalposts from your original statement of a signature win .

Daft? Wut?
Since 2016 big ten championship, tell me what guaranteed losses we won and I’ll say it’s a signature win.
‘maybe we can work concurrently and race
19 16 Iowa and 14 mich sig wins
24 at unranked USC (sig win cause I was in the stadium) that year we had 3 guaranteed losses that would have been sig wins, OSU O and ND

the way the ncaa is set up, you get 2, maybe three shots to notch a sig win. CJF has 2-3 in 10 years since 2016 bigs vs wisc.

Please comment on the 2025 sig win opportunities for us. (it’s O and OSU)
only 2 shots for greatness, only 2 shots to be elite, only 2 shots to be special. (he’ll fail, I’ll bet the mortgage I don’t have on it)

You can bet all the trips to Ireland you don’t take and all the cars you say you’re buying but don’t buy on it, too.

Hey, Kanye-off-his-meds, you said you were happy with Franklin after crying like a baby over him for years .. now you’re back to crying. Why?

If PSU loses to Nebraska, Iowa and Indiana but beats Ohio State and Oregon will we agree they are "signature wins?"

Oh silly. The signature wins this season are OSU and O (the guaranteed losses) another sig win opportunity very recently that comes to mind……ND. Don’t be daft, we won’t have it
Unless we beat one of them and they end up with three or more losses, then not a signature win. Kind of like USC…big game, need a win, we got it and it was downplayed on here by the naysayers. I could name a ton of examples like that. You call them guaranteed losses until we beat them then they become go Blue Hens games. Someone’s being daft, but it’s not me, the proof is all over this board.

Apparently “daft” was the word of the day on your new calendar. And you moved the goal posts again…you said a signature win was a win over a team you are guaranteed to lose to, so Saban, Smart and Day never had a signature win even with the rings because they weren’t guaranteed to lose in the championship game….you follow that, right?

If you are favored to win 10 of 12 games, doesn't that reflect that you've built a pretty damn good program?
I wonder how many P4 teams would be favored to win at least 10 of 12?
Only in the case of PSU would such a development happen in spite of the coaching.

You’re discounting/not reading what I wrote. Guaranteed losses that we win become signature wins. Not even maths can stop my musings

I don’t apply sig win theory to others, only my team. Why do I care about other teams?

I think Coach Franklin is doing a very good job, and I hope he stays for years to come.

But...
If you can't admit we had the 3rd weakest schedule in the BIG, and you can't admit we had the easiest path to the semis, and you can't admit CJF has a tendency to turtle up in big games.....

You might be the fanboy.

same old same old. What’s an sig win one asks, it’s the games marked as guaranteed losses. Fact: smu and Boise were not signature wins, sorry

I disagree - playoff games are big wins. Like Franklin said - lose them and see what happens. It’s not about the ‘talent’ - it’s the stakes. PSU was 2-3 in big games last year and probably should have beat ND. Day has never been a HC anywhere but OSU and that after being gifted a Ferrari by Meyer. He has never had to do more with less.

Day for Franklin straight up. Today right now.

And nothing would change…OSU would still be the better program and PSU would still be 10-2. Ryan Day has made just as many second guessed decisions as Franklin if not more. OSU fans wanted Day fired last year. It takes more than just a coach to build an OSU level program and Penn State isn’t there. Blaming the coach is the lazy way out.

How dare you attempt to confuse the BWICAC with the facts!

As long as 12 make the playoffs, we be good with 2 guaranteed losses, basically making this a non issue. I say we make the playoffs 65% of the time, get to the semis once a decade.
