I am happy that we won and happy we are going to the Tournament, but it is hard to see this team going very far because they are playing pretty poorly right now.

I was saying to the person watching with if we cut it to around 10 at half we have a shot. When we were down 19 it seemed almost hopeless. The grit and heart to not give up and battle back is unbelievable

Ohio State was still a road game and you left out PSU sweeping Illinois.....the Illinois game started their 3 game winning streak. The point remains, RU beat a quality team in the B1G on the road, down 20......no way that doesn't matter, especially off a woeful Michigan game and start vs PSU
You are correct but you had people on this board saying they shut the game off after First half. We all know BB is a game of runs. Pike’s coaching mentality, in my humble opinion, is 1 play at a time. Get a stop then score, get a stop then score. The end of the first half with the 7 - 0 run told me OK bring same intensity in second half.

In addition to helping ourselves (obviously) seems like we could still hypothetically benefit from Wake winning out their last 2 games and having a strong ACC tournament. I know their resume is fluff and they don’t have good metrics(bad NET) but doesn’t their record quietly keeps them in striking distance of at large consideration?
Before you say no way - let’s say they find a way to beat BC and Syracuse close out the season - they’d be 20-11 going into the ACC tournament with a crack at Pitt or Miami on a neutral floor. Win that and 21-12 (maybe 22 if they have to play UofL) with wins over Pitt or Miami, Duke, Clemson, @ Wisconsin, UNC, VTech and Georgia. They beat a pretty good midmajor in Utah Valley too. No Q4 losses. How would the committe e value that resume vs 15 loss B12 teams? I’m honestly not sure.

UConn to Albany says 2 hours 10 minutes, RU to Albany 2 hours 50 minutes. We have over twice the alumni and students.
Penn State is a very streaky team and anyone coming off a 3 game win streak in the B1G is hot...not an easy conference to win in.

If they put UConn there as a 4 (which they would) then it would be UConn and a 13 seed, as well as a 5/12 matchup. Winners play each other in Albany in 2nd round.
Other poster was correct, only real shot at Albany is UConn as a 3 and us as the corresponding 6 (or 11).
For what it's worth, as a 8/9 seed, we'd likely be in Birmingham matched up with either 1 seed Alabama or 1 seed Houston.
