If our Cats go bowling to some exotic locale such as Detroit or Birmingham does stoops go back to Towles or say Barker it is.

Since we started Barker with the entire season on the line then I'd start him in the crappy bowl game. A couple more weeks getting all the first team reps would be good for his development.

*Bring back the wildcat. Snap to Jojo, Boom (if healthy), hell even CJ. Let PT block, maybe snap to him occasionally to keep the D honest. And run some freakin' sweeps.

* only halfway joking.

Both QB's look inept with our Oline, but I doubt thats the case. I have seen enough of Towles I want to turn it off. He had his chance, including a 6 game and a 5 game losing streak to end the year over the last 2 seasons. He came in yesterday, marched the team down field, and on cue, threw another patented ill timed INT, 24th for the season. When do we say enough is enough?
Is Barker any better? Too early to tell, but if it was Barker who had Towles career stats, I would be ready for a change also. Nothing personal, but 24 INT's for a guy who has had tons of snaps, is inexcusable IMO

You start Towles and hope he gets his confidence back for next year. I didn't see anything out of Barker that makes me believe he will ever take us bowling. Average skills and overblown numbers out of highschool. He was reported as 6'4, 4.6 speed, with a big arm and none of those are true. He does spin the ball nicely, but he looks outclassed and confused in the games.

When did Towles lose so much confidence it hurt his game? Towles has seldom if ever strung three halves of good play together.

He looked pretty good all year until Miss state and Tennessee. He's a gunslinger, so you take the highs and lows. One day he will get it figured out. Talent and determination will go a long way.

How many interceptions did Barker have yesterday? Start him and open up the playbook. Dawson's playcalling for Barker yesterday was atrocious.

You continue to develop Barker Towles has peaked hit his ceiling. Barker is just a redshirt freshman with a higher ceiling.

When we lost our top 2 RB's, the whole game plan changed. Take those 2 guys out of any Towles led team, and its a Loss.

I will admit our opponents were better at catching Towles passes than our receivers were.

They was wide open no wonder, haha. His passes always look better going into the defense hands, they been on record saying he throws a tight ball.

Towles played great against Auburn, Mizzou, and South Carolina and brought us back to save the season from absolute hell against Eku and ULL. He played like shite against Miss state, Tennessee, and UGA and lost his confidence. that's how sports go. We would have lost to those 3 teams no matter if Brady or Your boi Hartline had been playing, so screw it and keep going. Why throw a freshment in there, who is far from ready and risk sending us back to 2-10 football?

Why do you make personal remarks in a conversation such as this? That won't make your point and shows your argument is so weak you decide to toss in unrelated clutter.

I think, and you may not agree, when a QB has more Interceptions than TD's over the course of 75% of a season, he should be replaced if possible.

Start Barker. Last thing the fan base wants is a "QB competition" in the spring. You will lose majority of them if that is the case. New era

When did Towles lose so much confidence it hurt his game? Towles has seldom if ever strung three halves of good play together.

To answer your question it was sometime around the middle of the season when he was well on his way to becoming the most sacked QB in UK history. And three halves is better than the zero quarters of good play that Barker has strung together. Stoops himself said he should've put Towles in earlier yesterday. Towles has wins over South Carolina (twice), Vandy, Mizzou and Florida on the road if the right call is made. Barker has a win over Charlotte and a couple terrible losses. You think Barker could've beaten any of the teams I listed? Neither is great, but it's becoming pretty clear why Barker has been beaten out in MULTIPLE competitions under MULTIPLE coordinators by Towles. The only reason the switch was made was because Stoops was feeling pressure from the fanbase.

Stoops saw in practice that Barker wasn't capable of leading this team to wins against anyone on our schedule outside of Charlotte. Our record would've been 1-11 this year if Barker had started the season. People complaining about an interception by Towles at the end when he was trying to make something happen are a joke. I'd rather have a QB that can actually lead a few drives down the field and get some points and throw an INT every now and then than a QB who can't even get a first down. At least you have a chance of winning with the first guy. You have zero chance of winning with the second guy.

Because I'm a bit of an A-hole. Thousand Pardons. I guess we just disagree. Most of his picks were thrown 30 to 50 yards down field and against teams we had no chance of beating. I think Dawson should have run the ball with towles More and we'd probably be 7-5 right or at least 6-6 with a Vandy Win.

I don't care which one plays, but I have seen far far more of Towles playing (and losing) than I have of Barker. Either QB would have been handicapped by the loss of the 1&2 RB. Most people are forgetting that first drive by UK when we had our RB's to give the ball to, Barker looked outstanding on that drive. We missed that balance and UL took advantage.

In terms of the outcome of the game: Toss a coin! It simply doesn't matter! Offense is way too weak fundamentally, players and coaches, for it to make a difference who the QB is.

Defense's fundamentals, players and especially coaches, may be even worse.

Thanks, Supernova.

Whether it's Towles or Barker, what do you do in these practices? Do you revamp the whole offense, or do you stick with what works.

Name a QB in the SEC other than Towles who starts, and has as many INT's as TD's.

I don't know where he ended up but didn't the FIVE STAR QB for Auburn do that for quite a while earlier this year? Did he get it figured out, think he started some games later on.

Some players it takes longer, and some times it is like a light comes on, certainly playing for UK this year wouldn't help any QB's confidence.

Yea, i never got the whole idea behind taking our speed backs and constantly trying to run them up the middle, especially with a garbage O-Line like we have.

Well that sucks! now we are down to Drew Barker and some True Frosh. If stoops can do something with that he deserves to stay. I'm having a hard time seeing it work out.

So you're saying Reese Phillips transferred also?

Jeremy Johnson started the year at Auburn, had a horrid start, was benched, then ended the year with 4TD's vs 1 INT. You bench a guy, the light will come on!
