This is using the rosy Trump predictions on GDP growth.

So we aren't increasing to the prior $53 trillion in debt in 2035, only to the amazing number of $50.5 trillion. Wow, that saves us entirely.

I project we hit $2 trillion in interest by 2029, if not sooner, due to bond yields. Now what?
The debt was between 2 and 4 trillion 40 years ago, and we were told then that was "unsustainable". No one wants debt, but at what point do we stop worrying about money we can't pay back right away anyway and concentrate instead on generating more wealth producing economic growth to pay for it? 🤔

GDPNow forecasting model provides a "nowcast" of the official estimate prior to its release
That is not an official estimate. We'll see.

You and @TarHeelEer both are aware no doubt, that this BBB is NOT a spending bill?

Just a reminder in case your news sources forgot to mention that little factoid to you.

And since when did you especially come to the realization that government spends too much? It certainly wasn't during the last administration. 🙄

@TarHeelEer can you tell me which item listed in that "bbb 50" posted ITT is NOT worth your vote for it?

Yes...we need economic growth to pay our debts. If you purchase a home, you don't worry as much about the mortgage debt you just signed onto as much as you concentrate on making sure you have a steady or growing income to pay for it!

You shouldn't make bills you can't pay for, however if you have a steadily increasing income or at least a stable income, paying your debts shouldn't be a problem.

America is in debt. We need robust economic growth and wealth creation to pay for the debts we have created, and we need to restrain our future spending while we work to pay off what we've borrowed.

That's what this big beautiful bill allows us to do.

So anyways.

15 of my shelves and freezer get me through the first year after SHTF. My assumption is that I have enough defensive measures to survive, or I end up dead and a loot drop. 9 shelves are dedicated to ongoing food preservation and hobbies that will make me valuable. One hobby will be a still. That alone will allow me to blind or smooze up to the inturder(s), depending on which direction I want it to go.

May I assume by your refusal to answer my question to you in post #124 that you are opposed to all 50 items inside the BBB since it doesn't cut the debt as much as you'd like? 🤔

If it fails, your doomsday preparation efforts should serve you well. ;)

Even on this list, it's something we should consider in the future, but at this moment, deficit reduction is more important:

1. No taxes on tips — servers, bartenders, and bellhops just got a raise Promises made, promises kept
3. Child tax credit raised to $2,500
11. “Trump Savings Accounts” for kids — build generational wealth from birth. Game changer.
14. Energy production unleashed — back to drilling, fracking, etc.
15. Tariffs on Chinese-built ships — protect American shipbuilders.
16. Buy American, build American — required on all infrastructure projects.
18. Repeals DEI mandates — merit matters again. DEI is dying.
20. Military pay raise + benefits boost
21. National missile defense (“Golden Dome”)
22. HSA accounts expanded — use them for direct primary care.
23. School choice tax credits — parents, not unions, control education. Historic!
24. Feds barred from mandating pronoun usage.
26. Revives apprenticeship programs — college not required to succeed. The cartel hates this.
27. 1% of exports must ship under U.S. flag
30. Cracks down on Big Pharma middlemen
31. Bans drag shows for kids at federally funded venues.
32. Fires the climate cult from federal boards
33. Veterans get priority housing access
34. Tax credit for buying American-made vehicles
35. Stops Chinese ownership of U.S. farmland — our soil is finally protected!.
36. Bans CRT from federal training programs.
37. Ends taxpayer-funded abortions abroad. And defunds planned parenthood!
38. Guts federal diversity czars — cuts the bloated bureaucracy.
39. Revives the Keystone XL pipeline .
41. Enacts Social Security tax cuts for seniors.
42. Defends religious liberty in the workplace
43. Restores due process on college campuses.
44. Massively expands trade school funding
45. Outlaws federal funding for gender transitions for minors.
46. Creates nationwide “patriot curriculum” grant fund
48. Tax breaks for adoption and large families.

for me personally....this alone is worth voting for that BBB. Nothing is more precious than innocent human Life itself...and it galls me we were forcing taxpayers to fund the murders of unwanted babies...not just here in America, but overseas too!

There is plenty more in that BBB worth supporting...and "yes" it also reduces our debt! Certainly nowhere near enough, but don't let "perfect" be the enemy of the good.

It's not perfect, but this is a good bill.

37 could be included, it's a spending cut. I went through the list quickly.

It's not a good bill. It is likely to increase the debt.

No argument from me...have you considered though that the US government just simply operating day-to-day increases our debt? When have you in your lifetime ever seen government shrink? Those DOGE cuts as worthwhile as they are, will come later once we start carving this bill up during spending authorizations.

I'm with you on the spending...but give me the tax cuts and border enforcement in this bill, and I'll get back to you on the debt.

HAHA.....now it's starting to get good......

What Elon was too stupid to realize was that he was dealing with locust. They get what they want, and move on to the next thing.

And....isn't it interesting to watch some of these posters switch their positions so quickly? Once they hated the debt ceiling, hated increasing the debt......now they are supportive of it. Then it was "if you visited Epstein Island you are a pedophile that needs executed" to "well maybe he was at the island, but he didn't order from the menu". :joy:

Donald Trump GIF by Election 2016
I think he's more "real" to you losers on the Left than any of the "fake" opponents you have tried to defeat him!

Just remember... the "smartest woman in the world" tried and failed....then 'ya tried and failed using a half dead corpse who couldn't even sign his own name on his EOs...then after you worthless losers figured out he was clinically brain dead, 'ya ran a cacklin' Communist who specialized in creating meaningless yet locquacious "word salads" and SHE got her stupid *** clobbered in a landslide. 🤣

Now you miserable bots are back to name calling and accusations that DJT is a sex crazed pedophile hoping maybe it will finally help extricate his foot from being planted firmly up the middle of your surly, slimy Leftist behinds.

Then again, you could try impeachment for a third time, or perhaps some rouge DA in some high taxed Blue State could file child sex trafficking charges against him seeing Musk is now claiming Trump visited Epstein Island? 😏

No one who supports MAGA & Musk firebombed his Tesla dealerships. That was you sore loser Leftist anarchists who now all of a sudden "like" Musk again because he's criticizing something about Trump. 😒

Every single one of us who respect what Musk and his DOGE auditors found out about all your Leftist money laundering schemes through the government still respect him, and we want to see those DOGE spending cut recommendations in future appropriations bills.

Musk STILL has our respect and gratitude. We won't turn on him like you Leftist government leeches did after he turned the light on you sneaky roaches.

Excellent article! I wish folks on here criticizing this bbb would read that! However I think most of those against what's in the bbb aren't critical of what's in it, they just hate Trump and see stopping it is the best way to slap him around.

Thank you for posting. That was outstanding!

@TarHeelEer seriously my man, YOU should read the article brushy linked to in # 153. I say that because it's exactly what I've been trying to explain to you that addresses your main concerns about this bill (that it adds to the debt).

Reading it, you will understand it is not designed to address that, and in fact by Law it cannot! That must come from the appropriation process which we haven't reached yet. The article explains that process.

If you read that article, it is explained what the bill does and what it cannot do BY LAW! I strongly urge you to read it, then maybe you'll adjust your opposition to this bill, at least based on your stated objection "that it adds to the debt".

If you still oppose it even after understanding it cannot address the debt issue by Law because it's not primarily a spending bill, then you obviously have another agenda which has nothing to do with this bill.

Read it please.

"I’ve also seen claims the bill increases the deficit. This lie is based on a CBO accounting gimmick. Income tax rates from the 2017 tax cut are set to expire in September. They were always planned to be permanent. CBO says maintaining current rates adds to the deficit, but by definition leaving these income tax rates unchanged cannot add one penny to the deficit. The bill’s spending cuts REDUCE the deficit against the current law baseline, which is the only correct baseline to use."

This is word play and not true. When Trump and MAGA passed the tax cuts, they were set to expire this year. They were not permanent. If they intended them to be permanent, they would've made them permanent then, as they have this time. The baseline takes into consideration what they passed previously. To add them back now does indeed raise the deficit/debt.

"Reconciliation bills are not spending bills. They establish a budget, or propose a budget, but the actual spending must be established in a bill that starts in the House. A separate bill."

Yes, Republicans are still using reconciliation bills. I know this. No, the CBO is not considering parts of spending outside of reconciliation. It's all about the tax cuts. Not only did Trump continue the tax cuts from prior, but now, has added nearly $400 billion of additional cuts without spending cuts to match.

The 2 "gimmicks" from the CBO that Trump is complaining about are the growth rate and including the tax cut extensions. Both are valid, especially considering we're probably going into a recession due to tariffs in Q3/Q4.
