Do you have any proof to refute that Nordstrom did this because of a drop in sales of the line?
I'm not saying that politics can't play a role in this, but I think that role was played by consumers, not Nordstrom. If Nordstrom wanted to make this political, they drop the line last year or mid-year, not now.
You also stated that Nordstrom is closing a bunch of stores. If you characterize 2 out 123 in the US and Canada as "a lot", then I think you are alone. They closed one in the San Diego area last year - 3 other stores remain in that metro area though. They have plans to close one store in Santa Ana, CA this year. They must not have any idea how to run a business. I mean Macy's is only closing 63 stores in the next few months - just as a point of comparison in the same business.
