The rival fan in me says Stoops needs a few more years . Seriously what do you really have to lose with Kiffin but from reading your all's comments would Mitch pull that trigger ?

He did win at USC but there were other circumstances that led to his firing, obviously also not winning enough.

I brought this up a few weeks ago.

Where we are, I would support the attemp I guess but wouldn't be thrilled. Mainly because he'd leave the second he showed success more than likely, unless our AD wises up and showed some real balls in the contract and showing we are dead serious about winning.

At this point, it absolutely couldn't hurt, but if it didn't work, that should be nail in the coffin for Barnhart in higher uk athletics. I mea , he's a ATHLETIC DIRECTOR, not director of scientific research. The guy is so in the wrong field it's not even funny. Like, literally, for a uk fan, not funny. Extremely sad.

Yes, it could be worse. A lot of smoke around him at UT and USC concerning possible NCAA violations.

Who cares? SEC football programs cheat, it's part of it. So does the ACC, BIG12, etc. and really, if winning big means some probation down the road, whatever. Most of the time it doesn't touch prior wins, only the ones surrounding the incident.

To hell with it. Losing the right way is worse than cheating, winning, and getting caught trying.

He is a mere play caller and recruiter. Those things are necessary, but not sufficient qualities in a head coach.

Stoops isn't going anywhere last time I checked.

We are going to win 2 or 3 games. I'm in the vast minority that thinks he's gone. He will settle a buyout and go. I don't think stoops is such a POS that he's going to want to be where he's not wanted and can't win, while robbing the same people who gave him a legitimate shot. If he's half the man the "moral brigade" thinks he is, he wouldn't hold us to the full amount.

The Stadium is going to be joker-Esk bare toward the end of the year. I think he'll have to be removed with it looking even worse next season.

He will be a HC again some time in the not so distant future, probably in a P5 if not the SEC.

I would expect him to bring Sark with him wherever he goes.

That is potentially two HCs with P5 experience who are among the best offensive minds in the game and ace recruiters.

Unprecedented opportunity for this program should things come to that.

I also wouldn't be surprised if he hires his brother, Chris Kiffin, in some capacity. He's the DL coach at Ole Miss and a top 10 recruiter nationally.

Another thing to remember, Gran was on Kiffin's staff at UT. I'd love to see him keep Gran if he is hired. (Hopefully he is because I'm a huge Kiffin fan)

Mitch will find a reason to say no. He's been in some ncaa issues. We lose the right way. The university of Kentucky Hoosier football program

Not my first choice although I'd at least give UK credit for trying if they hired Kiffin.

Oh yeah definitely. I love guys that try to beat everyone as badly as they can. He's a real cocky guy, too. That's how I was when I played so I basically he and I are one in the same.

I guess I would have mixed feelings about Kiffin. I don't really see the evidence that he is a good coach (as opposed to just a good play caller) but he could assemble a top notch staff.

Then again, could he do anything at all with our current offensive personnel? They aren't really his type.

Kiffen would be a disastrous hire in my opinion and not the type of coach UK needs if they want to build their program.

single party guy as head coach in Lexington, we don't want to run that back. but in reality i think Lane as others have said is a great coordinator and recruiting that doesn't make you a good head coach.

FWIW, that "article" was nothing but pure speculation with no sourcing. The guy who wrote it was just guessing what jobs "might" be possibilities. There's no evidence of any actual interest between him and us.

Partied with Kiffin a couple of times when he was at UT.

If he coaches like he parties, UK would win the SEC Championship.

f*** it...i'm down...

will he and sark furnish the booze and co-eds or will it be bring your own?

It's time to get with the program and dance with the wolves...NCAA wont do jack, and if they do it'll take them 5 years to find anything out, i'll take a slap on the wrist reduction of scholarships in exchange for a few years of winning...hell, we could just form our own "investigative committee" and deliver our own findings (or lack there of) and punishment, maybe suspend the soccer coach and a couple tutors...

Let's get Mumme and Bassett back in town for this shindig...

It ain't about amateurism, academics, morals, rules, level playing field, or even athletics anymore...it's about big money, big media, big entertainment, and big ratings...everyone else has figured it out...

People love Pitino and Petrino...if kiffin starts winning they'll love him again as well, he might as well be wearing blue and white when it happens...

Hell f*cking no. Kiffin hasn't proven a damn thing as a head coach.

We need an experienced HC...someone who has built a program from the ground up.
