Props. That was pretty good. Oh, yeah - OBseSSEed!!11!!1!!!!1!!11

See, I thought the opposite. It's actually hilariously ironic. The original song (a satire of sorts) is making fun of stereotypes portrayed in pop culture. Then this OM fan uses that musical back drop to combine every stereo type you've ever heard on the spirit. I doubt any of the spirit idiots who will eat this up will grasp how unintentionally awesome and fitting it is.

I can take rivalry jabs as good as anyone, but this is terrible...

Not funny and not remotely offensive to a State fan. I bet the only way this Jeb White boy "sees City Grocery In The Flesh" is when he is cleaning up the bar and scrubbing toilets at closing time.

Maybe my standards are just low. If you write a parody about your football rival, you fit the meter and you have a decent youtube production to go along with it - I'll give you an B+ at minimum.

The lyrics weren't creative and included nothing that we haven't heard a thousand times over, but like you said, it fits the meter and has production values and the singing wasn't awful. I'll give it a B, knocking off the + for the overly long amount of time I had to stare at female underarm hair.

You would think the asswhipping they took on the video jabs would have made them think about this. Where is that video by the way?

Let me preface this by saying this is NOT the angle I wish to take...

SMH. They could at least try to be creative..

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ckTcXK9GCU4

But it's time that it is said. I've always known this to be the truth but I've always wanted to stay away from the "holier than thou" angle Ole Miss folks always take over a stupid sports rivalry.

That being said, it's time Ole Miss people understand one thing. We, Mississippi State, are better than you, if you really want to get into it. And I'm not meaning that in the sense of sports (although that is well established by now). I mean that in the sense that farmers unequivocally run this state. Always have. Always will. Learn to accept that. I love to hear Ole Miss douche bags run their traps about poor farmers and how trashy we are. Meanwhile I'm sitting on my 3,000 acre farm in the Delta laughing all the way to the bank. So go ahead and laugh if you think owning land and making, in some cases, seven figures a year is funny. In the Delta WE farmers employ YOU lawyers to handle our land dealings. So do our bidding and know your place in the state hierarchy.

Like I said, I hate having to say this because I abhor people that think they are better than others, but it's time Ole Miss fans take a slap in the face and get a real understanding of things. Rant over.

They made this video out of love for one another

but they didn't put much effort into it. Probably because they don't take video making as seriously as they should have.

They will fix this by going out and recruiting better talent to make next year's youtube video.

I thought it was hilarious, mostly because that guy probably believes all the things he's singing about. Sure, farmers own ****, but the last time I looked half of the people at both UMMC and UM Law had degrees from MSU.

... And the part about the girls, I still haven't heard a clever comeback for how we've been a juggernaut in the Miss Mississippi pageant as of late.

Another thing...wasn't it established that a good percentage of those in the med and law schools at OM actually State undergrads?

Observations:

1. That guy's voice makes me think he's singing into a pink ***** that he sucks between verses (not that there's anything wrong with that--just saying he might get heckled by some of Freeze's players).

2. The video and lyrics are just lazy as hell. With a bit of effort, he might have found pictures of some actual State fan rednecks.

3. I'm a lawyer and a State fan. There are lots of lawyer and doctor State fans. ( I do have a vegetable garden though).

4. Where the hell does he think City Grocery's food comes from if not from farmers?

5. I'm sure the one they make about LSU will be much, much better.

Wasn't William Faulkner a farmer? Didn't Hugh Freeze grow up on a farm? I guarantee you that anyone who has lived in Mississippi for a few generations has at least SOME family history of farming or agriculture.

Anyone who knows anything about American history knows this country (and our state in particular) was built by farmers and immigrants.

And yes, this video was made out of love, not hate. Maybe someday they'll care or "get up" enough to make one about LSU.**

I like the post, but as mentioned in the thread there are those of us that are lawyers/doctors with undergrad degrees from State that didn't attend their school for our post graduate degrees - or some that did and excelled because of the undergrad education they received from MSU. Yet there seems to be this perception from both their fans and ours that WE are farmers and THEY are lawyers and doctors - as if an occupation should in any way be the measure of a person (I personally measure myself against others by height).

I think the main distinction that moves most to the MSU side is that as a group they do measure themselves on PERCEPTION rather than being a real down to earth person, which is what I find appealing about State grads (of course both sides have their good and their bad, but as a consensus it works this way). They'll drive an overloaded BMW to the game and tailgate with china and real silver just to look like they are better than you, when they are mortgaged to the eyeballs at home. Deep down that moron that's acting like he's better than you just because he has red and blue on doesn't have a bit of self worth and inside he knows it. I've found that more State fans generally care more about enjoying life and not worrying so much about what other think of them. I had a friend of mine that visited from Kentucky for the game this year sum it up this way: MSU makes you feel at home and welcomes you in, Ole Miss wants you to tour their home from a distance so you can go off and tell everyone else how great it is and that you wish you had it that good.

All that said, this video looks like what you resort to when your *rival* has beaten you 4 out of the last 5 years.

That's horrible, but so is the original

and it's just as inane and non-clever. Plus I think it's like a 17 year old singing about Cristal and ****

But every song's like gold teeth, grey goose, trippin' in the bathroom
Blood stains, ball gowns, trashin' the hotel room,
We don't care, we're driving Cadillacs in our dreams.
But everybody's like Cristal, Maybach, diamonds on your timepiece.
Jet planes, islands, tigers on a gold leash.
We don't care, we aren't caught up in your love affair.

You should read beastman's article. The original song is satire, dude. Also, the singer is 17, so spot on analysis!

I completely agree and I have many friends and relatives that graduate from State in undergrad and went on to become doctors and lawyers via Ole Miss' law school and UMCC. I certainly wasn't downgrading doctors and lawyers. I was just entertaining the stereotype that they love to play so much giving it the much needed angle of truth. Like many have said here before that a great percentage, if not the majority, of students at Ole Miss' law school and UMCC are State grads/fans.

im kinda split on this....the song itself is kinda muddled with references mixed between state and om...like girls with underarm hair rhyming with pro bear lyrics. ive definitely seen worse, but the production quality is good. whats with misitipi tate? do our fans have a speech impediment that im not aware of?

we could make one about how homosexual they are (NTTIAWWT), mock their booming metropolis that has a square block of places not in need of the wrecking ball, their from the trailer to the penthouse-ness about everything, remind them they are the race riot capitol of the free world, etc etc...but then again, im not sure we really care that much. 17-10 is really eating whats left of their hollow pretentious ****-stained souls and im loving it.

a ton of them are. they have a monopoly on many professional schools and have done everything in their power to ensure things stay that way. not all children in this state that want to be doctors or lawyers or pharmacists grow up wearing red and blue.

Nickoe peeing on the Hedges will always make me laugh. It's one of the few real State images in the video, and depending on how many UGA fans you know and what they are like. . .

(Not that I think Nickoe actually meant anything by it other than he needed to go.)

I will confess to actually liking the Feed Moncrief video and thinking it was pretty well done. But generally the best way to show Ole Miss in a negative light is just to let them talk about themselves enough.

Yeah she's actually mocking pop culture. Also she's from New Zealand where while it is illegal for a 17 year old to purchase, it is not illegal to possess it nor drink it.
