Took a very poorly struck PK to avoid losing to #50 RPI N Florida at home. I definitely believe the program would benefit from a coaching change. But like others have said, he doesn’t make a ton of money, our program is above-average and clean. He probably did just enough this year (again).

I just really want a team that competes for ACC and NCAA Championships.

That was easily the most rollercoaster soccer game I have ever seen in my life.

  • facing a cinderella
  • We dominate play, up 6-0 on shot attempts although none are dangerous shots.
  • their goal… disallowed on slimmest off sides it was their first shot of the game
  • Their absolute rocket to the upper 90, down 0-1, it was their first shot after the previous one disallowed
  • they score again own goal. 0-2 game over. Disallowed on a shirt pull. It was only their 2nd scoringnopportunity
  • our top 10 play level bicycle kick 1-1 20 min left
  • Our Header in On a beautiful cross! game over with 2 min left 2-1
  • cordes makes save with 1 min left, our defenders celebrating the victory but he yells at them to focus.
  • they get a random deflection off a Hail Mary long insert pass and nail a rocket off the cross bar, down and in. ONE SECOND left. ESPY level play. 2-2 to go to ET.
  • both goals by a former Tar Heel, easily the player of the match.
  • i think we are up 20-4 on shot attempts for the game, but it ends in a tie, under regular season rules.
  • we miss the frame on a wide open golden goal opportunity
  • PKs both the teams go 5 for 5 with none of them even close to saves
  • we miss the frame on the first sudden death PK. They only need to hit their 6th easy shot in a row to win.
  • cordes guess left and he is correct. Shot is sub par and he gets the save.
  • we make the next, they have to even to win.
  • they hit the cross bar, Tar Heels win.
i cannot stress enough how bad our defensive shape was on every single UNF attack. We fail to mark their best player, team captain, and former Tar Heel. Every. Single. Time.

klink needs starter minutes somehow. his scoring rate is off the charts on set pieces. Nacho, Hansen, and Nickolai serving up crosses to Klink seems like it should be our best offense to me.

We've had the better run of play in the second half but Maryland is putting a lot of pressure on our defense now toward the end of regular time.

Maryland is also taking dives all over the place and their fans are getting restless that they aren't getting calls.
