I agree. There are way too many freshman to be really good right now. The chemistry is lacking, people not knowing where others should be or will be. They’ll grow into the season.

Mara went out midway through the first and didn’t come back in. I thought Rianne Brown looked pretty decent on defense. We played Gundry in the second and then HJ came on in goal with a bit of time left in the game.

I think when Dellarose comes back we’ll see some drastic improvement, too. The back and front aren’t connecting well yet… but only Alvarez is returning from the back. Hopefully we’ll get there soon!

We do miss Dahlien’s attacking and pace… not much happening in terms of getting balls in. Faasse started doing that for us later in the match.

No Dellarose. Munson out with injury. Mara left early; announcer said she was under the weather. so we were basically down 3 starters on defense, or at least two starters and the backup who would also be a starter. Pennie started on D and not sure who replaced Mara.

The defense still looked at brief moments to be a work in progress, though Sienna rarely crossed midfield. The passing to start advancing the ball just looked like it was not well practiced and let to a couple of bad turnovers that could bite against a better team.

All of this of course not surprising considering who was out.

Devey started to really shine in her ability to get cut to the middle and pressure a defense. Shades of Sentnor but obviously way too early to make that comparison.

OT looked EXCELLENT at turning and attacking but still needs to get a higher percentage of shots on frame.

Jenny Dearie recovery from off season surgery
Camie Maynor recovery from off season surgery
Tessa Dellarose has some injury
Bella Gaetino doesn't want to play center back

That is a good sign. Did Damon play more players this game? I know this team has a lot of new faces and it is going to take them sometime to gel.

Dahlien was always a fun player to watch. I think Devey showed flashes of what Dahlien brought to the team in this game. I feel like this is going to be a season where we should enjoy the journey and not focus totally on the destination.

Man, the timing sucks. The players on our team need time to gel on the field. I am happy for those two getting called up. I can assume there are some other teams that will be missing key players as well.

UCLA outshot UT 17-1 and Shea O’Rourke (goal and assist against us) scored on their only shot. We outshot them 14-7 in our game.

True but at least half of our shots came when we were already 2 goals down and they were a bit forced. uT clearly outplayed us all game so the 14-7 stat is a bit misleading in this case. Their goalie did make 2 or so quality saves though.

This team is definitely a mess right now. These have been some of the worst performances I’ve seen since I got to UNC 20 years ago. Idk what formation we are running cause it feels like Riley Kennedy is our only midfielder. It feels like there are two teams: Faasse, Thomas, and Ulmark, and then everyone else. Theres nothing connecting anyone.

Damon has to get these freshmen and some of our sophomores ready for games… decision making and just bad passes a lot. Also, goalkeeping… yikes. She didn’t even make an attempt on the second goal.

The SEC is physical and a lot of our players are sort of soft… I feel like we rarely win 50/50 balls so far this year and we are waiting for the game to come to us instead of attacking the game.

Young team, but can’t be an excuse. Good thing is that it’s super early in the season. Hope things get sorted out soon.

First goal was just bad decision making followed by a bad bounce. Munson leaves her man to step up on the runner despite having Devey closing in as well. Munson's mark gets the pass which Gaetino leaves her man to try and intercept and fails. Gaetino's man then scores after the save bounces off Munson and lands right on her foot with an open net. I don't think the ball carrier was going to have space to shoot, certainly feels like Munson should've never stepped in the first place.

2nd goal, goalie had no idea where she was on the field. That can't happen at this level. After the 1st mistake at Tennessee you have to really think about trying someone else.

1st goal, we got Munsoned - think "kingpin."
2nd goal - no reaction - goal.

Brooks' two trademarks - play near midfield and don't react to shots on goal.
This isn't a Gagne deal, this is closer to Allen. Have to put Gundry in and Johann, especially for Alabama, Notre Dame, jersey Durham and FSU.

Offensively, need more long passes and mid level through balls and less Thomas 100 mph kicks 30 feet off the goal.

Nahas is so stubborn. Sub players and get Brooks on the bench

Maybe FSU beating this team 6-0 will wake this coaching staff and players up?

Returning players don't care, coaching won't make changes, young players are bad.

We won the title last year. This team stinks. It'll be ok if we have a really bad year and that seems to be what is going to happen.
