Not named UK. they are somehow even more putrid against the SEC than we are.
Lol.
Lol.
To my recollection, they've beaten Alabama and Florida in pretty good bowl games (Fiesta and Sugar).
The bigger problem is that four of them happen to be against us. Against the real SEC, Louisville would be lunch. Every single year.A uofl friend of mine tonight pointed out that this years UofL SR class had more SEC wins than uk's SR class, 5-4. Now that's depressing.
The ALA team Louisville beat finished 7-5 while the ALA team Couch and CO beat finished 4-7. Your '97 victory was against the actual terrible ALA team.Alabama was terrible the year they lost to UL and Florida was starting their implosion with Muschamp. We beat Alabama when Tim Couch was the QB...... but you win on the Florida comment. We can't beat them.
By Alabama standards, both of them. The ALA team Louisville beat finished 7-4 while the ALA team Couch and CO beat was 4-7. Now which ALA was terrible?

Speaking as a Cardinal fan to this particular OP/topic, I say "good post" BBB. Indeed, UofL sucking against SEC opponents does not make UK's performance look any better. Rivalries are emotional roller coasters for fans but the big picture is what really counts. And that means building and taking care of your own program. This thread makes me embarrassed to be a UK fan. Until we can beat UL, we can't make fun of UL. Those that think different are fans that remind me of our receivers that catch 1 out of 6 passes and dance when they catch it. Act like you've been there. Worrying about UL's team shows where we are. We suck. Quit worrying about them. Them sucking doesn't make us not suck. Let's beat EKU in regulation. Let's maybe beat Western. Then we can complain about UL. You guys embarrass me as a fan.
Thanks for that clarification. That makes UofL vs. SEC opponent even more of a rarity, just 7 games over the past 31 seasons, 3 of those in bowls or pre-season "specials".Wildcard,
I didn't include the Texas A&M games as they were not in the SEC at the time.
And that becomes a clinker. When Louisville plays the sec it is usually against uk or a winning program (bowl game) or the rare season kickoff game. If Louisville played the whole gammit (good and bad)the record would certainly be different. Thanks for that clarification. Not sure I buy that a 7-4 team ranked in the top 25 had 1/2 of its team vote to not go to a bowl. As I've said before, UL sucking doesn't make us not suck. Now the Alabama team we beat in 97 and stormed the field, that team sucked. As I recall, the Alabama team they beat, nearly half of the Alabama players voted not to accept a bowl bid when their regular season ended. In other words that Alabama team was about as inspired to play UL as our basketball team was against Robert Morris in the 2013 NIT.
It had nothing to do with the record . There were teams a lot more deserving than UL or AL that turned down the Fiesta Bowl that year because of Arizonas failure to recognize Martin Luther King Day . A good portion of Alabamas team voted to turn down THAT bowl and go to a lesser one . Needless to say their heart wasn't in it . And yeah we suck . You put UL in the SEC and they would suck just as bad . Most kids want to play for winners , UL would not be a winning program in the SEC . Their recruiting would suffer .Not sure I buy that a 7-4 team ranked in the top 25 had 1/2 of its team vote to not go to a bowl. As I've said before, UL sucking doesn't make us not suck. Your defamatory statement against Boom makes me ashamed to be a UK fan. If only you would defend UK players with the same vehemence that you defend UofLoL. Hell, if you would just refrain from attacking them, I would be happy. This thread makes me embarrassed to be a UK fan. Until we can beat UL, we can't make fun of UL. how does that help us? They've beat us 5 years in a row. So they would suck in the SEC too. Why does that make any UK fan feel good?It had nothing to do with the record . Defamatory? Truth is an absolute defense. I defend UK players that act like they want to be UK players. I have never defended UL. I've criticized our fans for making fun of UL for sucking in areas we suck more. Them sucking does not help us. Beat them and then we can talk.Your defamatory statement against Boom makes me ashamed to be a UK fan. If only you would defend UK players with the same vehemence that you defend UofLoL. Doesn't help us one bit . I honestly thought maybe you didn't know the circumstances . Doesn't make me feel good either . I just think sometimes UL fans don't really realize how hard it is to build a program in the SEC . Playing an SEC team every week definitely takes a toll a team , plus it's harder to recruit when you're not really competitive in your league . Just my opinion . Honestly the only reason I responded is because I thought maybe you were too young to know the circumstances of that Fiesta bowl . Peace Brother .how does that help us? They've beat us 5 years in a row. So they would suck in the SEC too. Why does that make any UK fan feel good?
