No. Tuberville put in their 2nd string QB (Hayden) to start the 2nd Half after Gunther struggled in the 1st half.
No way that was Elmer Fudd.

Yup and would have taken Tuberville, lol. He's got a nice trajectory going there but I wouldn't say much beyond but I also don't follow them much.

Did look up a couple articles. He's a Harbaugh protege but sounds like he saw the light and switched from a pro style to a version of the spread this year, calling it the gulf coast offense. Might explain the improved performance. Performing decently even with a young team. Another example of a spread giving you the best chance. Not a guarantee but just increasing your probability.

Some excerpts from a couple articles:

He overhauled his staff in the offseason. He also had made a big change on offense going from the pro-style attack that the Jim Harbaugh protégé had to a version of the spread he dubbed the Gulf Coast Offense, where it would go up-tempo and run zone read about 20 percent of the time and now with a dynamic young quarterback in sophomore Quinton Flowers. Taggart also took over as play-caller — something he did back when he was the coach at Western Kentucky.

The Bulls have one of the younger teams in the country, starting freshmen and sophomores at both receiver spots, QB, tailback, on the D-line and in three positions in the secondary.

After Taggart met with USF athletic director Mark Harlan following last season, the program changed direction. Both men said orders weren’t given, but a consensus was reached. The coordinators and assistant head coach were fired. A new offense with spread principles and a new defense with a 4-2-5 alignment were installed.
