I think at the 7 game mark you kinda are who you are. Unless you are getting back a high impact player ( QB, impact defensive kid) then the chances of you getting significantly better or changing scheme is pretty unusual. Hough has played one real team and got one TD even though they were at home and played nearly the entire game in Mville territory. Even against a LKN team that Creek had 49 on at half they only had 2 scores at half time. I think its fair to say they have a boat load of talent but are really struggling to produce points.
Beyond some of the things mentioned above I really think its hard to develop an identity on offense when you are trying to run much of your offense through a WR. I think Groulx is a talented kid but he requires a QB who can get him the ball and what I saw was circus catches just to have a chance at completions. They are big thick ankled Olineman with a huge power QB and several options at RB and yet they just dont seem to want to establish a run game. They want to throw it around. Threw it 33 times against LKN, ran it 23 outside of KBS scrambles. Was 12-25 against Mville and 3 of those were circus catches from Groulx.
They are very good defensively. best group they have had mostly because they are much better upfront. Paez , Hiliard and the big freshman kid are stout, the Monroe kid is a banger and as much as I could do without the antics they are dynamite on the backend. They run that 4-2-5 that is popular now with Fields as the rover and they cover alot of ground. I would like to see what happens when someone pounds it a bit on them. Mville just couldnt do much and they were afraid to test the middle of the field.
They also have an unreal kicking game. Kid is kicking FG's from 55 yards and the punter is crazy good. Thinking about goingto the NM game if I am back intown.
