I listened to it. I think the overriding point is that Iowa special teams could be the deciding factor. They have the best punter in the country, one of the best punt returners, and a rock solid kicker. They've also been good at blocking punts. A key to RU's success will be getting a draw from the special teams units.

They said in the beginning that Iowa just does everything "a little better" right now. I'm trying to figure out which things he's talking about. I guess special teams? Certainly not their offense. Defense seems pretty equal to me. We've played a much harder schedule.

Also mentioms how Iowa is bigger and stronger in the trenches. Looking at their depth chart they have an ordinary sized OL and DL. Ours is bigger. We also just pushed around Ohio States DL which is filled with NFL talent.

I think our special team is good enough (good punter and kicker but no real return man).

The key to the Iowa game is NO TURN OVER. The second key to the game is being able to run the ball on Iowa, which I think we will with one of the best RB and one of the best running QBs in the B10.

Just don't make stupid mistakes and we win. simple.

I was thinking the same thing- easier schedule and there is no stat they are better then us with. They give up a couple less points but that is completely on our 3 pick 6 and two dropped punts.
But even T/O's our ratio is much better than theirs too.
They have an advantage of home field, history, ST's.

The other thing They were talking size in the trenches- did anyone tell them this is 2023 and not 2014? We have two starting OL over 330lbs and all the others are 300 or better. On DL - the middle is clogged with a couple of 290-310 lb DT's and our DE's are in the 255 range.
Our LB's are bigger too.

It is going to be a battle but sometimes I think people just get a little lazy or try to hard not to sound like a homer.

Bring the same effort that was given vs. Ohio State last week, avoid the costly turnovers/special teams mistakes (like the Jets did in the 1st quarter of the game on Monday night) and I think Rutgers can take them. In this game scoring a TD is like scoring 10 points in any other game.

Maybe 14…

It sounds as though they are hurting somewhat upfront on the Oline . How many bigger than Pierce , Dunlap , Missouri,Asamoah , Felter, and several others . On D we are probably similar in size except maybe LBer without Powell. They have an excellent D backfield and Specials. Can’t make bad snaps or have punts and kicks blocked. Cooper DaJean is a great player on D and returns. Dremel should be returning all our kicks … Al of them.

Their punter has a big leg I believe which may let us actually return some. Dremel while not super explosive is quick enough for some nice returns. If they let him.

any punt that would be inside the 20- you don't get 30 yards from it...if we are talking some field position and some space- go ahead and give it a shot but out 2 muffs were inside the 10 and the returner was jumping at the ball to try to catch it.
