I still go back to the point that the average talent per position is noticably improved. Other than the experienced seasoned head coach. Still gonna take a while there it seems.
That is a fact but let me tell you another fact. It’s not like we are getting close to beating SEC foes, the fact is bottom line we are finding ways to gift wrap the game and hand it to the other teams. In all actuality it’s true if things were done right at end of games we have 1 loss and are nationally ranked. But instead we are winning games until it’s time to record the damn win and then stupid *** decision making even lets teams back in the game and win. And the damn Florida game just run the ball and kick the FG. So yes your right but there’s a problem you see… it’s sickening to think about

I’m one hell of a fan but that doesn’t mean I damn well should expect better decision making in games we have in hand.. yea the last part of your comment gonna piss some folks off. I have never encountered anyone who disagrees that we are a better football team that last year. The question is whether it's good enough, and whether Lebby is overachieving or underachieving.
The fact is we have lost three games that were not just winnable - but very winnable in the case of UF and UTexas. We lost them.
Yes, our players have to execute better, but you can certainly put the actual blame on the coaching staff. But you can bet they were calling plays they felt would put their players in the best position to execute effectively to win the game. That was a fail.
Nevertheless, the chances of us somehow landing a better coach are worse than miniscule. We have played good football with a much weaker roster than our last four opponents. I think Lebby and staff deserve a lot of credit for that.
I'd like to see him get two more years and see if he can bring in more talent and build a winning program. I believe he can and will.

Actually a lot of people come out alive and well from the ICU. Last year was the ICU. This year is out on the floor. Hopefully we will get out of the hospital next year.

Hold up right there I agree with you one hand and the part about not being a fan I resent because if if you knew I’m so invested that I’ve just about let this season push me towards a damn heart attack (for context my hearts not doing the least bit right, afib and o2 saturation levels of the 80s spiking heart rate into the 160s) the way we keep on finding and I do mean finding a way to lose truly when we are firmly in control and our coaching and play calling at the end of games which is simple as hell to do and close out games. We keep doing the opposite of what should be done. Has nothing to do with our athleticism and or how much we’ve improved. It’s damn time we see the wins and if you can’t see that than your the one with the problem. Do I need to put together an outline for you? Or can both be true at the same time and you understand the basic premise that I am indeed as much of a true fan as they come.
You are looking at this situation like this is 2015 where the model was recruit and develop. This is the portal era. The model is spend money to build a roster with experienced players and expect immediate results. We did that and have actually played well enough to get those results but sh** the bed MULTIPLE times with very poor situational awareness and game management. We are pissing wins away which in the process is pissing peoples money away. People who are not going to keep doing that. This is the reason for my concern.
If you think we can spend the kind of money that gets immediate results in the SEC you are in fora lot of heartbreak.
So your head agrees with me, but your emotions don't. That seems to be pretty common here. We ARE improved.
You aren't kidding about the heartache. If we can't pay enough then in this era we are just wasting our time. Mississippi doesn't seem to have that issue. I submit we ARE seeing immediate results but can't close the deal with games IN HAND.

The Confederates were not in as bad a place as we were to start this era. They had a coach and AD that embraced it. We didn't really start till this year. It's going to take time, even with the way things are now.

What is our current NIL, coaching salary, and recruiting budget right now?
Can you imagine the $hitstorm that would erupt if the verifiable and accurate answers to these questions were actually made public?

Good luck trying to find actual numbers when you talk about NIL and recruiting budgets. You can find some real numbers on coach's salaries, sort of. Y'all keep acting like paying players is new. The absolute amounts have increased, but the relative spends between schools hasn't changed that much. There may be an outlier every now and then, or a new boy, but those are few and far between.
We did it this year, and can reasonably say we should be 6-2, but our gomer coach choked on his asparagus.
We could be 7-1 as well. I'd say that's immediate results.
Talent isn't our issue. And I think we're discovering now that talent wasn't likely the issue last year either, considering that many starters we have, especially on defense, were Leach recruits. Maybe if he hadn't ran off all Leach's guys in year 1, we'd......well, nevermind. He'd have coached them down. I mean even the way it worked out, we should have been 4-8.
Did we? We are improved, but the base we were starting from was so dang low. That's the other side of my post that I thought I didn't have to mention. I guess I do. I think we are vastly improved, that still doesn't mean we have the talent of, or are, a good football team. If anything, we are overachieving. That is BIG progress, and enough to get off of Lebby's back for another year.

how the hell do you keep missing the point I’ve pointed out remember when you said I wasn’t a real msu fan if i didn’t agree. You keep missing the part as someone else just pointed out that yes indeed we are much improved, but and it’s a big but, coaching and calls have kepts from actually sitting here as a 1 loss team maybe 2 at most. So yes we are much better but we keep on suffering from Boneheaded decisions made on the part of the coach

I've said that all along, except about the blame being only on coaching (the coaches HAVE put us in a position to win those games, that cant been ignored). My OP here was that we are much improved. The only way you couldn't see that is if you weren't a MSU fan and didn't follow MSU. I expected that post to cause an uproar. I just wanted to see who was going to do the uproaring.
