Mitchell gave up a solid hit to him. It's not so much the idea of not wanting to pitch to him, it's sending the message that he is NOT going to beat us and force someone else to (last night, no one else did). So unless we are putting ourselves in a hole by loading the bases with less than 2 outs or walking in a run, I'd opt to put him on base.
