We finally play four full quarters of football. State has yet to play to

their full potential. The defense is especially notorious for taking off a series and giving up a dumb score. Too much jogging around and not hustling to the ball. They can not do that against Bama or any other team on the schedule for the rest of the year.

If the entire bama team comes down with the West Nile virus.....

Hey, I want State to win too but this is just tall an order.

We have to stop bama's run gameor at least slow it down enough to force aj to have to trow the ball. Then we have a chance

Play 4 quarters at our maximum potential. We've played two or three, but never four quarters. If we don't take the third off against Tennessee, that game isn't remotely close. We should have been up by at least 14 over MTSU last weekend. I can guarantee you Nick Saban's guys will play hard for 70 minutes in this 60 minutes game, we must match the level of effort and intensity.

oh, you won't have to "force" him to throw... he's gonna throw it anyway... or do you mean throw it 40 times????

There is a difference between throwing it when you want to and throwing it when you have to. Don't get to excited about his performance in the ut game. Mr granny could have made those throws

Have some long sustained drives to keep our defense off the field. Best case - we jump out to a 2 score lead and make them play from behind, maybe (maybe) inject a little panic in them.

I will not be surprised to see them come out winging in like they did in last year's NCG, if we are loading the box against the run. The matchup with Cooper and our corners will be fun to watch.

...we play our A game and they play their B game or worse. We are not as talented as they are, but we are not so much worse that they can relax. This game is setting up to be a perfect trap game for Bama. Even at 7-0 we are completely off their radar. I'm sure the coaching staff over there is keenly aware of our ability, but the fan base (exhibit a: TUSK, our resident Wal-Mart shopper), and most importantly, the players don't respect us at all. Our players will be VERY ready to play and ready to prove they belong.

I don't bet, but if I did, I would be ALL OVER that +24 points.

We would need a few turnovers, and our offense to play the entire game for a change, and our defense to force them to settle for field goals instead of touchdowns. I give us maybe a 5% chance to win this game (I would go up to a giddy 25% if it were in Starkville).

The one thing we have going for us is our Tight Ends. I just don't think you beat Bama's corners so having some great tight ends at least gives us some ability to spread their secondary out and still get some catches. This Bama team is not as good as last year, but they are still better than us.

You've not watched enuff Bama this year...

Bama throws early and often... (for a primarily run oriented team)... we throw on 1st down a lot...

we throw very little in the 2nd half, and almost none if the 4th qtr.

and I'm not saying AJ will throw for 300 yards vs MSU like he did UT... but 200+ is not impossible...

We bring the A game and they bring the C game.

Or they can play decent, but we would need to be +3 on TOs and score at least 17 points off of them.

Just play our Game, it'll be Utah Sugar Bowl all over again.

Spread passing games are the only weakness to Saban's D.

Florida, Utah, Auburn, etc... Only teams to make their D look bad at times. Particularly Utah. The 3-4 falls apart if two LB's have to be used to exclusively cover TE's or Slot Receivers. Just look at how well Ole Miss moved the ball at times with so little talent and depth.

24-21 State (I know this is'nt a prediction thread but I don't care, call me Mr. Wool)

We score TD's and hold them to FG's and turnovers. They can't win if we have the ball all game.
