Elkin,, 1st and 10 on their own 2 Yard Line with 1:22 Seconds left, Drives down the Field and Kicks a 23 Yard Field Goal with 3 Seconds left. Glad I was able to see this game. I didnt believe Elkin had a Chance in this game, just wanted to see how Good East Wilkes was. Incredible game to watch. Congrads to Elkin on a Huge win.

Anything can happen in a rivarly game, when the hounds and bears lock up or the east and the bears get together you can throw the records out the window. Keep your heads up cards , you have central next week and you are still one of the best teams ive seen this year, and ive watched 1a football all across the state this year

Great win for my 'Hounds tonight. Proabably one of the hardest fought games we have had since I've been around. It was a war for it all tonight; West came in and played their hearts out and made us earn it. West is a very good squad so that made it more fun. First half was a deadlock. They got us first with that option they run; but we came back with a smooth run and got a FG to get the lead.. 3rd quarter we only had 3 plays total as West ball controlled it the whole quarter. 4th quarter come and we flipped the switch and played hard.
This is our first conference title since I was a little fella at the age of 6 in 2000 and our 7th varsity title.
This is my 10th year at North so to experience this after being all over the rainbow of emotions and experiences is something else. I'm happy for everyone here we have been due a long time for this. Too have seen it all slowly happen over time is something I'll never forget. It still ain't over yet though..

Thanks for the help last night. I don't always see the scores others post because as soon as I post the consolidated score with what I have found I have my new post up an ready to add the scores as I get them but I do go back when I get a chance and like all your scores and make sure mine are right. So don't think I am ignoring you. People see your scores first becaues I sometime waiting on a team about read to score.
Beau Burgess Elkin QB was 27-59 w/410 yds 3td passes against the Cards on Friday night. Those are Tom Brady-ish numbers!!! He was in a zone!! Congrats to that dude. They will be a tough out in small 1a if they can keep up that kind of mo-jo!!
DaBlue, I respectfully disagree. The zone he was in was because of our zone. Most of his passes were dink and dunk and a lot of yards after the catch. No pressure on the quarterback or on his receivers. That is what is so heart breaking about that last drive. No adjustments were made as if we had done a great job all night. How about press coverage and blitzing the linebackers? Elkin has some good kids, but this is not the Elkin we grew up against.
Facts don't lie Freedom. Gotta give someone credit one way or the other. We say our D didn't do this or that. Fact remains. Its not luck. Elkin has averaged nearly 50 pts a game the last 3 or 4 games. Fact is they have made 2nd half adjustments in all of those games. Fact is the bulk of their comeback scores against EW, NW, and WW came in the 2nd half. Can't fault Elkin for exploiting the same thing that Ashe exploited. The difference is, Ashe didn't have enough receivers to make the big play after the catch. I think EW was so afraid of getting beat deep. They sat in that zone and allowed everything to be caught in front of them. Gotta give the Elks coaching staff props for seeing and adjusting and taking what EW was giving them.
