Week 4 of the Weekly Review. When all of the services have posted their rankings, I'll post a reply indicating that the Review is complete.

Barr moved a good bit, with his defeat of Beard in the Lehigh dual. Lilledahl moved in some rankings. Beyond that, not a lot of movement of PSU wrestlers, and what little there was seemed to be more a result of what happened at Cliff Keen, as opposed to anything that the PSU wrestlers did.

I'm still waiting on @SetonHallPirate to post his WrestlingByPirate computer rankings.

A reminder that: 1) different services treat freshman (RS or True) differently at the beginning of the season, 2) different services rank a differing number of prospects per weight class, and 3) computer generated rankings usually are off a good bit at the beginning of the season.

I'm a casual wrestling observer and haven't been paying attention but how does Gable Steveson get to come back and wrestle again and he's ranked #1? I thought he tried to be a Buffalo Bill after he got released . I assume he had eligibility but he's taken a year off?

You need more than the fingers on one hand to count the years. Steveson lost to Anthony Cassar in the March, 2019 national championships. The 2020 NCAA national championship was canceled due to Covid, but...there was an extra year of eligibility given for athletes that year. The 2020 Olympics were postponed until 2021. He won gold at the Olympics that year.
He won the 2021 and 2022 NCAA Championships too.
He didn't compete for MN in the NCAA 2022 and 2023 championships.
Of course Greg Kerkvliet won the 2024 tourney.
So count up the number of Marches including 2019, his first NCAA tourney through the next March tourney: March 2025. I count seven.
Olympic redshirt year...Covid year...Where does the other year of eligibility come from so that his NCAA career takes in seven Marches starting with 2019?

Yeah, I get that. The question is, was Steveson a student when the year was picked as the redshirt year? Maybe I’m wrong but I was under the impression that an athlete had to be an enrolled student to be declared a redshirt for athletic eligibility purposes. I don’t know whether he was or not, but one has to wonder about his academic status when he’s in the WWE or trying out for pro football.
Maybe it doesn’t really matter since he’s on the wrestling team now and will compete.

I do not think enrollment is required. Apparently it is not as I doubt he was enrolled during his WWE or NFL days.
