Funny story here, football stadium wasn't lined up with track-and-field area, tried to fix it, and didn't realize the rest of the stadium would be off...lol
If you go to kannapolis it’s the same way. When they put in the synthetic turf a couple years ago They shifted the field by 10 yards to the east and now the press box is at the forty. They said they did it for safety reasons because the back of the west end zone used to bump up to the track. But I’ve been going to Kannapolis games since the late 70s and I’ve never seen anyone get hurt because of the track.
Salisbury’s field is off center, but I’ve never heard the story as to why. It isn’t due to turf…. They have natural grass. It isn’t due to the track…. That’s across the street, past the tennis courts.
But its about 12-15 Yards off center if I remember correctly. If anyone knows the reason, I’d love to hear it.
