Yes, technically. They also live by a whole different set of norms that the majority of Americans don't.
Trump lost regardless and that includes some traditionally Red states....but it is important to note this is why we have an Electoral college....many dems have argued against the EC for years which is absolute insanity.
The electoral college is a crock. It punishes conservatives in California as much as liberals in Wyoming. Explain what is good about it.
It's a powerful, and extremely intelligent check and balance.
It doesn't just prevent tyranny of the majority, it helps prevent the tragedy of the commons.

Litterally all you have to do is pull up Election map to see why we have a EC. High populous big cities vote Left. Low populous rural communities vote Right. The vast majority of the map is colored Red but the power is in the Blue cities all over the country. Money sits in high populous cities and people flock to them.
This is why we have an EC. If we didn't have an EC elections would be decided ONLY by high populous big cities where consistent political ideologies are generally shared.
The only other option would be to award 1pt to each state based off popular vote with no balance to that states total population.
The funny part in all of this the average median income is highest in Dem led cities where the disparity in wage gaps is also highest. People need to get a grip. Big cities drive ideologies and the sheep all say baah.
