Were they made with sugar or high fructose corn syrup back then? According to some.. it doesn't make a difference apparently...Best thing in the world was stopping in a country store years ago on a hot summer afternoon and getting an ice cream sandwich and a bottle coke.......I know you remember.
I spend extra for the Mexican bottle of Coke every so often when I’m wanting one for this very reasonWe're the made with sugar or high fructose corn syrup back then?
They had them at Aldi last year. I ate the whole box by myself.I always got a bomb pop when I was a kid whenever we stopped by one of the country stores. Those things were so good.
Ok boomerI like the Heath Klondike bars.
Have you seen that ******** now? Those bastards have so much crap in them they won't physically melt. They just turn into some weird goo.Ice cream sammiches in the 80s were made with real sugar and just hit different
And cost 5 bucks a piece at a convenience store !Have you seen that ******** now? Those bastards have so much crap in them they won't physically melt. They just turn into some weird goo.
Those the Reese’s and Mint Chocolate Chip ones are amazingI like the Heath Klondike bars.
I sell Mexican Cokes in the restaurant. People seek us out because we have them. There is a massive difference between it and regular coke.I spend extra for the Mexican bottle of Coke every so often when I’m wanting one for this very reason
summer time as a kid, a push up was quite the treat. Something about orange sherbet on a stick, stuck inside a toilet paper roll...cause I didn't get to reply. I am more excited about eating a Klondike Bar about 2 or 3 this afternoon when it's hot as he!! . Damn I love those things.
some of this crap you get now, you can leave the whole thing out on the counter and it doesn't melt. it warms up, but mostly stays solidish.Ice cream sammiches in the 80s were made with real sugar and just hit different
Bear in mind that when your @$$ gets old food items taste differently. So, blaming the corporate food manufacturers for taking away the flavor may not necessarily be accurate.Ice cream sammiches in the 80s were made with real sugar and just hit different
I was referring to the “real sugar is healthier for you” crowd., not the taste. Cool your jets. Were they made with sugar or high fructose corn syrup back then? According to some.. it doesn't make a difference apparently...
Not in this case.Bear in mind that when your @$$ gets old food items taste differently. So, blaming the corporate food manufacturers for taking away the flavor may not necessarily be accurate.
“If you can’t pronounce it, don’t eat it” is an incredibly stupid reasoning.Yeah your tastes change but in 1970 ice cream and soda content labels did not contain words you cant pronounce. That's just the facts. And why do they put different stuff in American food than Mexico Canada etc ?? It’s not because the American public asked for it. I know one of you will say that.

Well they damned sure changed Coca-cola. Never did get that back.Bear in mind that when your @$$ gets old food items taste differently. So, blaming the corporate food manufacturers for taking away the flavor may not necessarily be accurate.
LOL I've never met a "boomer" myself included who gave a damn what was in a GOOD ice cream sandwich .Were they made with sugar or high fructose corn syrup back then? According to some.. it doesn't make a difference apparently...
I sell Mexican Cokes in the restaurant. People seek us out because we have them. There is a massive difference between it and regular coke.
That said I would imagine the average American prefers Corn Syrup Coke because that's what they're used to drinking. But the average American also makes McDonald's number 1 in restaurant sales, Modelo Especial (skunk piss) number 1 in beer, and somehow had Two and a Half Men as the number one show on TV while Arrested Development got cancelled. TLDR-The average American is an absolute dipshìt.
I’m sure you boomers will get pissed off but if you did a blind taste test you couldn’t tell the difference between a cane sugar coke and a HFCS coke. It’s all in your head.

We don’t grow corn.View attachment 850719
I don’t know if corn is one of your crops or not, but this take is just as wrong as your ridiculous insistence that corn-derived ethanol has no bad effects on small/offroad/marine engines.
Yep, had an old Commissary store right beside my house and even better we had a charge account there!Best thing in the world was stopping in a country store years ago on a hot summer afternoon and getting an ice cream sandwich and a bottle coke.......I know you remember.
But, shouldn't the ingredients just read "banana"?“If you can’t pronounce it, don’t eat it” is an incredibly stupid reasoning.

There are things banned in the US that are still allowed in Europe and vice versa. The US and Europe have different ideologies on food standards. Neither is necessarily superior to the other.I guess you can take that anyway you want but there are tons of ingredients added in food products that were not added 40 years ago. As well as many ingredients that are banned in most other countries. Yeah, banned ingredients but it's fine for us.
Shouldn’t it just read Coca Cola? But, shouldn't the ingredients just read "banana"?
The point is It’s chemicals, just like chemicals in all food. You’re trying to scare yourself over nothing. They have broken the banana down into all the vitamins minerals and anti oxidation etc. Everything there is natural. You dont see any added sugars dyes or preservatives of course. But let's conflate the two.
