Yep, they are scared shitless about Lavon Hooks right now... Nevermind that Yancy has had them believing all along that they were getting Za'Darius while the rest of their writers reported they were mostly out of it... This Donald Gray(4* ath from Memphis) recruitment is just putting them over the edge now -- as it becomes clear to them that we are about to snipe him as well if we choose to do so.
First i have even heard of the Gray guy. Seems odd to me we could be that worried about someone i have never even seen mentioned till now.
Eta: ok looked him up on scout. Shows as a 2 star guy that we havent even offered. Did you possibly mean someone else?

I said i had never heard of him. I checked scout cause it was the easiest for me to check on my phone.
OM fans don't know a great deal about Gray because he has grade issues. This is why you won't see many updates on his recruitment from the Scouts, Rivals, and other sites. Go check his profile. Articles on this 2-4 star have been almost non-existent since the summer. Ask yourself why he hasn't visited anywhere yet. The OM staff knows him well though.
He may be close to qualifying if his recruitment is picking up again. He'd be a strong pickup for MSU or OM if he qualifies.

From the twitter feed in that link he didnt even put msu in his top 5. What leads you to believe he would jump to msu at this point? Not intended as a flame, im really curious. Again today is the first time i had heard anything about him.

i've never heard of gray either and i keep up pretty well with our recruiting. coach 34 can pull up my post archive that he keeps handy and tell that i don't play the "we didn't want him game".
Yeah i ha e heard of all the rest of them. I really dont think you have a chance with ED and from all im hearing, Mackenro wants to play with his brother. Conner has been thought an ole miss or bama guy all along. So i would guess your best chance would be gray and maybe carr, but i really dont know a lot about him either.

Why have we been in Indiana on multiple in-homes with him -- while he's taken an OV and multiple unofficial visits to MSU if we didn't "have a chance." You are banking on him wanting to play with RN which by all accounts he does. The problem with this is that you are still just ASSUMING that you get RN -- which is a whole helluva lot less certain right now than it was a month ago. We've heard "two weeks" how many times?
We are a major player with MacKensie--doubt that if you'd like. If he were deciding today, it's between us, A&M, and Clemson -- with A&M not having room for Mackenro. If they want play together, we are near the top of the list. We had them both scheduled for 2 different OVs in the past 2 weeks, but their HS team kept winning - causing them to have to cancel. They will both visit in January - and then things will become more clear.
True. He also spent the last All-Star week with 9 MSU commits -- a likely lean(Shumpert) -- and a guy that talked all week about how badly he wants an opportunity to play for MSU(Derrick Jones). Zero "solid" OM commits on that team. If you can't see how MSU could garner increased interest(even if temporary) out of this situation, I really can't much help you.

OMG!!! You won't believe what the Gene's pack crazies are doing!! They are buying subscriptions to Yancy's site so they can run back to SPS and post everything that is said there! Even the sarcastic posts are taken as literal. They talk about Robert Nkimdeche and OM recruiting all day! Plus they are arguing about OM losing recruits, even though no OM fans who read rivals or spirit know who the hell they are talking about.

If MacKensie was doing that, he wouldn't be a part of a package deal... Clemson may take them both, but aTm wouldn't. Mackenro's recruitment is crazy too because from what I've seen, that kid is a player. Tremendously underrated because he's a S/LB tweener -- not much different overall than Denzel Nkemdiche coming out.
MSU is a serious player with both. MacKensie has articles all over talking about how much he likes us, how we are recruiting him harder than anyone else, etc... Not saying he ultimately ends up at MSU, but we are definitely seriously in the running(with Jalen Ramsey also).
And it makes sense that we would get a nice little bump in DB recruiting. We just turned a 2* into a Thorpe winner/first rounder, and the 2* starting across from him will also be an early-round NFL player - as well as graduating 3 starting DBs. We can sell immediate playing time - and "if we developed that 2*, just imagine what we can build you into" line.
Then u can b sure OleMissGuy will be posting about it on rivals
