He's right about pace of the game or he would be much higher in the record books. I think it was in '82 that Georgia beat us 26-20. Yeah, that's right a total of 46 combined points.
This was my era. Never forget the night in 83 we had highly ranked UK beat on our floor. Up 2 with a few seconds remaining with the ball out of bounds. All we needed to do was inbound it from the sideline and it was ours. Melvin Turpin stood behind Kal Wells and literally held both arms down as the ball was triggered in. Ball rolled out of bounds untouched, no call, no time off clock. They of course proceeded to throw the ball into the lane and hit a contested shot to tie it then beat us in OT. Many very pissed off people left the Hump that night.
Former Bulldog center is one of school's all-time best rebounders and shot-blockers.
