West Columbus football this year has been no different
record wise,than last 5 years. Jason Jones 1 year at
head coaching position has changed mindset of program
in the right direction. Won three regular season games
and 1 round in playoffs against a Elkin team that has
won 4 State championships in last 10 years or so. I say
good job with these kids and being a small school (ADM)
numbers. This team can win more games in playoffs if
defense steps up and gives the off. good field position
They also have to play 4 quarters of solid football.
They have speed in Fred Evans,and Rostin Bromell.
QB McFadden can throw the ball down field,or run
when he has to. I don't know how they lost to
South Robeson,just didn't play 4 quarters. I hope
they can go to Sparta and keep momentum on their
side. People there say forecast is snow,in the
low 20 Friday night. This will be tough. Keep up
good work,go get this 2 round win.

Usually it's about 8 to 10 degrees colder in Sparta than it is here in Elkin.

West Columbus will be just fine. When kick off goes all is football then. If WC plays it's game they will come
Home a winner.

Just some basic information on both teams. Nothing about individuals. I think I can say with some confidence that the Vikings have the support of all of Columbus County. If you are from here you know that that is quite a statement.

I'm sorry but I do not see all this change. Only by winning a second round game will they have done better than last years team. Elkin has not been a world beater the last 5 or 6 years. It was my understanding the officials had to have the time keeper and the announcer removed from the press box at the South Columbus game. A player's father went on the field after refs. None of this has anything to do with coaches or players but it does reflect on the school and the program. It was my understanding that these people were back the next home game. Heard coming to practice was not necessary to play.

Dollar,most things u mentioned are true except I can't
Speak of players not coming to practice and playing.
I don't think Jason would even allow this to happen.
Man,I could rub some the wrong way but I will just
Say that at WC things are trying to be done right
But u still have to answer to THE PRINCIBLE if
U understand. Coach Jones is trying his best to
get program in right direction. Yes they had trouble
with PA person saying things and principle put him
back in the box,and I think I was told yesterday he
will be doing basketball also. Not sure,but was told
this. I am trying to be positive for the kids,but let's
Just say the administration at WC does things a lot
different from other programs. I am not one to pass
judgement on anyone,but I do have opinion like other
People do. Dollar,u draw your own conclusions.

I understand it to be as you stated. It is up to the people in the community to get this straight. A cheap shot on my part about the practice, play.

West Columbus lost to South Robeson because SR scored more points than WC. That's usually how it works.
