Any thoughts with this conference for 2022. What can we expect. For some reason I feel like Hickory will be a team to watch out for in this conference. They were really young last season. West Iredell was really young last season as well and I believe they will improve some. What will Statesville have?
Here is the final standing of the conference at the end of regular season last year of ‘21.

Statesville 9-0 ( 7-0)
North Lincoln 7-3 ( 6-1)
Hickory 6-4 ( 5-2)
East Lincoln 7-3 ( 4-3)
North Iredell 3-6 ( 3-4)
St Stephens 2-7 ( 2-5)
West Iredell 1-7 ( 1-6)
Fred T Foard 0-9 ( 0-7)

Doppleganger started a thread about this conference a month ago and got crickets….I agree with him…shocked that no one responded.

There’s a couple former South Fork teams in that conference that were/are always good. Bazzles’ North Lincoln and Lubowiczs’ East Lincoln. I know those fans are still there and maybe chose to keep quiet because of the realignment to 3a and they weren’t sure how the teams would fare against bigger schools. I thought both represented very well….heck…they’re from Lincoln county!…I wuddnt surprised😉

North lost there stud QB..Kovalchuk…who also led the team in rushing. However, they have their next 2 leading rushers returning. North lost a lot on defense…we have to wait and see how that goes. I’ll say this…Bazzle will have them ready…he always does.

East Lincoln…didn’t lose much at all! it appears to me that ALL the defensive players are back. QB is back..he threw for 1500…the leading WR is back…Just need a RB…and I’m betting they have one or two!😂 East Lincoln is locked and loaded. I wouldn’t be surprised if they take the conference this fall.

We’ll see!

The conference this year to me is wide open, I don’t think there a clear favor but I would say the top 5 could be in any order.

EL: Always talented and strong.
NL: Will be slightly down but always tough and strong. Coach Bazzle is a great coach
Statesville: Talent is there, New coach time will tell
North Iredell: They have a solid core currently and they should be able win few games this season
Hickory: They have a solid coaching staff that is doing very well. Hickory my dark horse it’s really down to talent there

I don’t know much about Foard/St Stephens

West Iredell:,Very down n New HC

St. Stephens has Coach Lowman…1 year….they have athletes…I believe they’ll trend up.

Hickory has Coach Glass….1 year….they always have athletes….they’re definitely trending up!

Statesville doesn’t have a coach currently…I could envision a slight drop…but they ain’t going nowhere…always a tough program with tradition. They’ll figure it out…they always have..so I don’t see that changing. Statesville will have a say in who wins this conference…you can bank on that!
