Somebody needs to inform all the Bleeding Heart Pitino Loving Media Members both Locally and at ESPN and CBS about Mathiang and most likely others on this years team being associated in SquirtGate, instead of the current poor punished players on this years team theme.
Somebody needs to inform the retard UL fans that the NCAA has not doled out punishment to their Cheating team ,UL self imposed the post season ban,and neither of Matt Jones,UK Fans, the State and University of Kentucky,John Calipari,or William Wesley had anything to do with the Cheating/Whores at their school's athletic teams.

I do feel bad for any of the players who weren't a part of it and honestly had no idea it was happening.

I'm starting to think that's not very many guys.

here is my take on that
the players on this years team that were on the team at the time the prostitutes were being paid for, either took part in it, or knew what was going on
they all lived in Minardi Hall

They have been told over and over but they refuse to believe it. Instead of admitting that their school has NO morals it's easier for them to blame everyone else. I guess they are too WEAK to take the blame themselves.

Like I said, the greatest thread ever. UL is done and will never recover from this. May the inner city of dulville burn to the ground, and everyone will it.

First, I can't take any writer or person seriously that complains about the grad transfer rule. I hate when people bash it. Kids commit to years with the program, graduate, and contribute to their school. I don't know why people think that giving someone a scholarship somehow makes that student locked to that school after they fulfill their college obligations.

Secondly, Pitino would have gladly done this. The guy referenced the ESPN interview, but not the widely quoted part where Pitino said he would take a fine and suspend himself if it got the team to the tournament. Did he do any research for this? Nonetheless, I doubt it would have been near enough in the eyes of the NCAA. Louisville has to suffer. Letting the team play with Ralph Williard, who isn't a terrible X's and O's guy in his own right, isn't that much of a punishment.

I'm glad to see other media picking this up just because UL posters keep insisting that no one but UK fans are discussing it.

Take down the FF and the Championship banner and let the kids play...

All that said, this author was Tennessee sportswriter of the year? Twice?

The picture of Mangok Mathiang with Miss Powell's daughters indicates that this years team is tainted with the scandal also. Best to cancel the tournament than to have to unravel it later, the NCAA would frown on Uvel going through the tournament knowing they had used players that would be declared ineligible.

I would have to believe they are self banning themselves on the advice of Chuck Smrt, the investigator they hired and long time NCAA investigator.

THIS/\!!!! How are people so naive to believe thatthisstuff stoped just because Mcgee left?! Theresatleast one incident AFTER HE LEFT, yet none of these players are tainted! I'd bet my house that every player on that team including the thransers all received at least a dance, although not byPowell. In guessing they finally found clean white girls, lol, who know howtokeep their mouths shut, hence the silence after Powell was replaced.

If the NCAA looks at slapping UL with this can they dig deeper and question why they kept Hurt after he was slapped with a show clause or does the investigation only cover strippergate? Didn't know if the ncaa got their foot in the door if they could look at other areas or not.

Pretty sure they can look wherever they want. Another question could be, will they remember jurich said he believed hurt, not NCAA? Old tommy pretty much spit in the face of the NCAA. Hoping the NCAA has a good memory

UL and every team and year since Tom Jurich was hired is tainted,it got worse with Pitino and especially worse when Pitino tried to keep up with UK and John Calipari.
Cards are DIRTY,DIRTY,CHEATERS and should get NO SYMPATHY for their Cheating, they deserve everything they get and more for hiring and keeping the slime they did and allowed the Jurich-Pitino Cartel to run a criminal organization robbing Kentucky Taxpayers.

In his ongoing attempt to distance himself from these sordid events, Pitino told ESPN Radio on Tuesday: "(Andre) said it was just women coming over and listening to music. Then he got a lawyer and that was the last I spoke to Andre McGee."

Well, I'm glad others are singing the chorus, too - but in the end it simply will not matter. As I keep saying, Tom Jurich and Rick Pitino live in a protective bubble. The Louisville community, which includes local media and obviously the fan base, form a cocoon. Think about all the national bad press UofL has gotten. Syphergate and Willie Williams and the Petrino re-hire and Clint Hurtt and the cheerleader overdosing in the football dorm and the defensive end from TCU and the runningback from Auburn and on and on and on. The press on Petrino was particularly bad - ESPN and SI jumping in with both feet, saying that Jurich was "shameless" (SI) and "cares only about winning" (ESPN).

And how much did it matter? Not one iota. They know that whatever they do, it will end, and the national media will grouse and complain and ridicule for a day or two, and then move on to something else. And locally, it will last even a shorter duration.

This summer, at some point it will become apparent that Rick Pitino is indeed going no where, that he will continue as Louisville's coach. And Jurich will stay, and likely even Ramsey. And someone from USAToday will write a scathing column shaming Louisville, and a few talking heads on ESPN may condemn the move. And two days later they will forget. And Louisville will play games on national television next year and not a comment about any of this will be heard, and someone will say what a great, Hall of Fame career Rick Pitino has had......

The leadership at UofL knows this. Those who think there are changes coming will have to learn it again.......

^^ sad but true. Except this time they'll have a nice timeout from the NCAA and their recruiting will get even worse if that's possible.

But the depths that UL fans go to cover this is just ridiculous. I'm ashamed to even call some UL fans my friends.

@Mojocat, they've already self imposed a post season ban. You can't tell me you saw that coming. It's going to get a lot worse in my opinion.
Yes, I agree Ugoff. This self-imposed ban tells me that there is much more here than we likely know right now, and we know quite a bit. We all know the nepotism that exists in Louisville and the way they've allowed Pitino to skate by, and the way they hired a guy with known issues like Petrino. So, we know that, if they thought there could be ANY way whatsoever they might skate by, they would have gone that route, especially with the team they have this season playing pretty well. So, the fact that they felt they HAD to do this tells me there is more to come. I guarantee you that, if they felt an immediate postseason ban was appropriate, the NCAA will likely say a greater punishment is in order.

So, bottom line, it makes sense to me that we're only seeing the beginning of what is to come once the NCAA has its say.

which is the almost the exact opposite approach UNCCheat is taking.

they think they have a winner and will take whatever penalty is passed after they win it all this season....

Guys, I'm not saying there won't be consequences. I'm just saying that Pitino and Jurich will survive them.
You may be right about that, though I have a feeling Rick is going to be tied to this thing somehow. I wouldn't be surprised if the NCAA strongly suggests Louisville clean house. The environment in which this kind of thing could happen, over a period of years, in an on-campus men's basketball dorm, is the issue. Even if Rick has plausible deniability, he SHOULD HAVE known. I think Rick is gone.

It's hard to imagine how much dirt exists over there. UL better hope there isn't someone in their athletic department who's had enough of it.
