There is a local band called the Louisville Crashers that can play anything.
They sound better than alot of the artists they cover.
Great entertainers!

While I like New Order, Orgy's version of "Blue Monday" was much better

Also, "Torn" by Natalie Imbruglia was better than the version recorded by Lis Sørensen as "Brændt" (at least that's who Wikipedia says did it originally)

Poncho & Lefty - Willie Nelson (Townes VanZandt), Make You Feel My Love - Garth Brooks (Bob Dylan)
I won't say these are better but they are great covers, Little Martha - Jerry Douglas, Dobro (Duane Allman), Stairway to Heaven - Heart (Led Zeppelin)

I'm gonna have to stay with the New Order version. The orgy version just doesn't do it for me. I do like Galaxy 500's version of Ceremony better than the New Order version though.

Love Reign O'er Me - Pearl Jam (I also love The Who's original, but PJ's has more balls)

Flatt Lonesome's cover of Dwight Yoakam's "You're the One".

...... and I'm a huge Dwight Yoakam fan.

I don't like the Killers in the least but they've done two interesting covers I actually liked:
Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town (Mel Tillis song made famous by Kenny Rogers) and...
Romeo and Juliet (an almost impossible song to try to follow after Dire Straits/Knopfler killed it).

Also, John Denvers "Country Roads" is always better as a bluegrass song. Always.

I'm a bit biased because I love Johnny Cash. But I really liked his covers of Rusty Cage and Solitary Man. Dwight Yoakam - Crazy Little Thing Called Love. Jimi Hendrix - All Along the Watchtower. Janis Joplin - Me and Bobby McGee. Joan Jett - I love Rock N Roll.

you can't talk about covers without talkin' 'bout this rock kitten. . .freakin' screamin' voice like no other. When she does the "YEAH, YEAH" at the end it is just, dammit . . . (Heat Wave via Martha and the Vandellas)
