not sure how much creative movement this thread intended, but this is an example of perfection on top of perfection, from a remarkable individual we all know. She is precious to me.

Suicidal Tendencies - "Still Cyco After All These Years"

They remade their own songs with a metal twist as opposed to the original punk twist. The songs are still great, but much different.

Lot of good choices on this thread:

Dwight Yoakum Suspicious Minds better than Elvis

Not as good as the The Who, but I love Pearl Jam's live version of Baba O'Riley

Disagree about Landslide, Steve Nicks/Fleetwood version better than the imitators

Mr Tambourine Man by the Byrds better than Dylan

Tie - Because the Night (Patti Smith) and 10,000 Maniacs, both really good takes on a Springsteen written song

There is a local band called the Louisville Crashers that can play anything.
They sound better than alot of the artists they cover.
Great entertainers!

Max Maxwell, the drummer (could have been in Days of the New) has that ridiculous hair daily. Really disconcerting to look at.

Ray LaMontagne - "Crazy"
Chris Stapleton - "Amanda"
Tony Lucca - "I can't make you love me"
Nickel Creek - "I should've known better" (obscure)
Faith No More - "Easy" (Honorable mention for the campiness)
