I think the masks work. There are studies on both sides that “prove” they do or “prove” they don’t. No one is winning that argument.
So far, I haven’t gotten it and the only people I know who have had it got it from exposure to someone without a mask.
I am a teacher and have been teaching in person classes. I have had students test positive that I have been in the classroom with. We are required to wear masks all day except for lunch (and I eat by myself in my room) and to get a sip of water.
I am not saying the masks work or not, but I am not taking chances. If they don’t work, then big whoop, I haven’t lost anything from doing it. I haven’t hurt anyone by doing it.
But if they do work, I might be saving a life other than mine. Also, I make other people feel better and more comfortable. I am a servant to my fellow man, so I will wear one to possibly save others and maybe save myself along the way.
Who am I hurting by wearing one? Just me and I don’t matter as much as my brothers and sisters.
Who am I hurting by not wearing one? Maybe everyone around me, including myself.
I just can’t take that chance.
To each their own, just don’t breathe on me please. Your freedom ends when you endanger me.
