What I'll take away from this season

Even though we are 8-4 below are things I will remember and take away from this season.

1.) How pussified some of our fanbase is and how quickly we forgot where we came from.

From Bogey, to chewwgum to a rash of other nutless sacks of meat that wear (now I hope they don't you) the same maroon attire I do. Let me say this, you make me 17ing sick to my stomach to be a MSU fan. The simple fact that I a prior service member of this great nation have something in common with a gutless, estrogen piece of meat like you makes me absolutely disgusted to call myself what YOU call yourself....a MSU fan. But I don't call YOU people fans of this team or this university.Because if you did, you would know 1 simple thing. "To properly see where our voyage is headed we MUST see where we began." Abraham Lincoln. And I think most of you LACK perspective. Not only where we started but where we are heading.
When we played Auburn this yr there were SOME on here that didn't think we'd have won. As the week prior to that they played a very talented Clemson team very close. The UT game, there were STILL people who said we couldn't stop theire offense. Where did those people go? Oh they jumped on the #webelieve bandwagon right? Bruiser & all these other slapdicks who wear red & blue are laughing their asses off at you numbskulls. The board is slap full of them now. Take a page from DAWG61, how pathetic was it that they rushed the field after beating a team that all the EXPERTS said they'd beat? A team they act like was beneath them. If we were so damned pathetic how pathetic are they to rush the field after beating said "pathetic" team?

2.) I'll remember that a slow white kid at OLB is the heart & soul of our football team and how hard he played EVERY down!

3.) I'll remember NEVER to get on this board right after a loss or even 3 days after a loss. I didn't think people who go"know" football could be so 17ing stupid.

4.) I'll remember Todd4state has a hard on for Manny Diaz. Even though he runs the same mother 17ing defense as Chris Wilson the EXACT same. Maybe Todd likes his slick haircut (I do too but I ain't slobbing on his knob). Todd needs to stick to what he's VERY good at baseball.

5.) I'll remember some dumbass on here wondering why he should "care about MSU athletics" just days after a loss. Btw, fella don't slip off that ledge we wouldn't want you to fall.

6.) I'll remember the best damned tweet I saw all yr was a tweet by Hadad saying something about a "**** sandwich" & to "just chew".

7.) Lastly I'll remember that this is MSU fan fan& they are the Bears and this battle will ALWAYS have peaks & valleys and this should cement in our heads as it will (and should in theirs): we'll NEVER get too far away from each other that one can't pick itself RIGHT back up. They won, the were the better team and I still hope they GO TO HELL!

It doesn't matter "where we came from". The 1983 season doesn't have anything to do with how piss poor we gameplanned in some of our biggest games. Or how disinterested we looked at times this year on both aides of the ball.

You ask my take about the beatings we've received. Let me preface what I'm about to say by saying that I think Dan has done as well as most could do given the situation when he came here. And I am not going to say it's time for him to leave. But at the same time I feel he needs to make some changes on his staff & himself as s coach. I'ce personally heard things that have gone on abduction I'm not going to share those things no matter how many private messages I get from people on here. But I can tell you that the guys coaching on the sidelines was not the same guy who was on the sideline Vs. Middle Tenn.

I think that something is about to happen. I haven't been part of the silly "Dan's going to __________" crowd in the past. But I do honestly believe it's the only thing that can explain what's going on with him, the staff & their disconnect with the players.

as usual, great post. first of all, i like all the shout-outs you gave. secondly, did you get that quote from the vampire hunter movie? i'm also guess you didn't make a 24 of the english portion of your act.

eta: have you tweeted wilson or any players since the egg bowl to get their opinions or is it still too soon?

You're better than that

You know full well this is NOT the same defense that Manny ran at MSU. Manny applied a TON more pressure and used more blitzes in his first game at MSU than we did all this year combined. Just because Chris was the "co-defensive coordinator" with Manny it doesn't mean that this is the same defense.

Yeah- I have such a hard on for the guy that in every thread on here that says to bring him back, I'm normally the first one to say "no".

I'll tell you what I do have a "hard on" for- and that's playing good defense- which means getting pressure on the quarterback any way you can and stopping the run. This read and react BS isn't going to cut it. We don't have the talent to get pressure with four, and so we NEED to bring LB's and safeties.

All Chris has done is prove that he is inompetent and in over his head.

How about with rivalry games, it doesn't matter what your record is at the end of the season? Bulldog fans felt good at the end of the 2001 and 2005 seasons despite 3 win seasons because we beat Ole Miss, but feel sick after an 8-4 season where one of those 4 losses happened to be against Ole Miss.

Todd in all honesty I like ya'lls show. And I respect your opinion in BASEBALL as you are the authority in that realm. But I KNOW they run the same defense even so much so that they BARELY changed the verbage. They still run "field gut", "boundary bat" etc. etc. The ONLY thing they changed was they have used more "predator" & "prowler" packages late in the yr and it cost them in games Vs. aTm & Bama. But worked Vs the bears & LSU.

And Uncle Ruckus I've got you blocked on the board. If you want to PM me and let's meet up somewhere to have a "conversation" by all means lets.

You keep making excuses...

for ****** football. I call it like I see it. I said we would go 6-6 back in August when you and coach 34 were screaming 10-2. Now, I will admit that beating TN gave me false hope and I begin to question my prediction. As it turns out, I was right about our team. We are a 6-6 talented team...we have two pro corners and our defensive coordinator has no idea how to use them, it's sickening to me. It scares me that our team seems to give up when we get down and that we play with little emotion. As a coach, you should know that a coaching staff should never let that happen. I hope Mullen can make the necessary changes on defensive side of the ball so we won't be so soft.

Can`t argue with you there but if you`re insinuating that he was distracted from coaching at the end of the season by another job offer (wouldn`t doubt it) and it can be proven his *** should be run out of town.

Wait a minute- our defense worked against the Bears?

Did Jackson State change their name from Tigers to Bears and I missed it? You call giving up 41 points stopping somebody?

The terminology may be the same, but what you're saying would be like me saying that we ran the same offense that Bill Walsh ran under Croom from a terminology standpoint, and therefore Walsh wasn't that good of a coach.

Our defense may be the "same"- but there is no doubt Manny ran it differently and applied more pressure and used our personnel better than Chris. Just like Bill Walsh used his personnel better in San Francisco relative to how Croom used our personnel in their versions of the West Coast Offense.

You can say "Well, Manny had more talent"- that's debatable especially when Chris voluntarily starts a walk-on in place of Quay- and that's all the more reason not to to just rush three or four at a time.

Tell me you're joking when you say this is the same defensive scheme!??

There is no GD 17ing way in hell that ***** excuse of a defense we played this year and some of last year is the same as Diaz's defense. A Diaz defense that sent pressure from unheard of places at the most unpredictable times.

The piece of 17, on our heels, defense that we have played this entire season, made me want to puke. We played not to lose, hoping the other team would 17 up and allow us to win. When you play not to lose, you get exactly what we saw. We played *****, and the fact that we happened to play some Girl Scout caliber teams along the way gave us 8 wins.

Also, Striklin shouldn't have any trouble getting vagisil or tampax to sponsor what has become our ***** video board atmosphere next year after our on field display this year. If we lose playing hard nose, wood laying football it's not as hard to swallow. But when we lose the way we did, we need some soul searching and uhaul packing amongst the coaching staff.

I think this is what you're mad at me about. Based on your comment "given the situation when he came here". 8 people on the roster when he got here went to the NFL. Granted we sucked. I'm not downplaying it and he deserves a lot of credit. Hell, I lvoe the guy and want him to stay, but we can't act like there was no talent. Our QB sucked, but there were at leaset 8 of our starters who were/are NFL players. That's a fact.

Lots to comment on but here we go.

Todd, it is the same defense pretty much as when Manny was here. The only difference is we go a little more "prowler" package (3 down line). We still do "double strong" and both field blitzes & boundary blitzes the way we did when Manny was here. Same premise, same philosophy (live off forcing TOs & scoring D). If you STILL say it's not the same there is no way to prove it unless we get Manny & Chris to say different (working on that for ya stay tuned).

DeerHntr, if u can get the guy to pm you, you pick him up.......we can do it anywhere in Starkville you want. He acts like he knows me, but if he did he would know not to. Whatever he wants to do I'm down.

RougeDawg, read what was said to Todd & apply. Same priciples the difference was LBs that are playing well in the NFL playing gaps and batting down passes & getting sacks to getting stoned by roving Gs & Ts. Its talent....plain and simple.

Lastly if you want him fired......cool. I've got no problem with it. The fact he keeps the wrong personnel on the field is enough for me. Starting Cherry, putting Nikoe into a position to roll over with help over the top or being put in a position to be in coverage AT all, playing Eulls as a 6 technique in a 4 down line set drives me as crazy as you guys getting angry about Nikoe in coverage. Eulls is a 5 technique in a "prowler" set (3 down linemen). Preston is the guy for the 6 technique in a 4 down line. PJ, Quay, Nick James or even Virges....not Cherry. So I'm not disagreeing either your idea of a change. Just wanted to put that out there.
