New defensive coordinator new line coach and linebacker coach...a special teams coach and new play caller...Dawson can stsy but not call plays
Stoops does not let Dawson call plays he has him on a short leash! If I were him and I bet he is he is looking to get away from Stoops!

^We were referring to on field mistakes. For which, Stoops has made about an average amount of mistakes for a HC of only a few yrs. Not more and certainly not less. The problem is that our team is bad.....which magnifies every on-field decision ten fold.
On field mistakes. He makes more than just about any coach I've ever seen. If you think he makes an 'average amount of mistakes' then you may need your eyes checked or you've seen a lot of bad coaching and not a lot of good coaching in your lifetime. Is the only football you watch Kentucky football? If so then I can understand why you say that.

Former player and athletic trainer. Have been on the sidelines for several prominent collegiate programs throughout the yrs. I watch any football game that I can.....whether college, pro, or even HS. I have a reputation for being one of the more knowledgeable about football on this site. So, yeah, I know more about football than most.

You have to separate the on-field mistakes. When a TO is called to ice our own kicker......when 10 seconds run off the clock before a TO is called.......then, yeah, it's Stoops' fault. When we run shotgun with Boom in the backfield sitting on the 3 yd line......that is NOT Stoops' fault. When Stoops decides to go for it on a 4th down and we call a bone head play, that's not completely Stoops' fault. When UL changes QB and we can't adjust to the scrambling......that mostly falls on the DC. Etc, etc.

So, yeah, Stoops has made a lot of mistakes.....even has cost us a game or two.......but it's not like other HC's haven't made similar mistakes in yr 3. Many have made worse and many have made fewer......

^And just to follow up. My opinion on his on-field management does not indicate one way or another whether I think he will or will not be successful. I think his off-field mistakes have been more impactful to his progress and will probably ultimately decide whether or not he is successful.

It would please me if everyone who claimed they would not spent another cent on this team, would not renew their season tickets.

Maybe I could move my seats down a few rows and finally get a parking pass...

New OL coach, new DL coach, hire a special teams coach, Stoops let Dawson call the offensive plays and stay out of the mix and throw the ball to freaking CJ Conrad.

Fact is there is nothing that happens during this off season that will elevate my expectations, since it will all be about what could/might happen because this guy or that one comes or leaves. After this year that's not enough. Wholesale staff changes or none at all; successful recruiting class or multiple defections; same players or more transfers, pre-season hype or worrisome rumors -- doesn't matter to me. Come September we'll begin to find out what we've got -- something different or same old same old. But we will know. Until then, it's all just theories and projections, and that's not enough right now.

And would give you confidence heading into next season? Even if its only a slither of confidence.
Not certain about what changes would please me, but what changes would give me confidence? None! Winning is the only cure for that!

An assistant coach with prior HC experience.

Good thought. With the retirement of Frank Beamer at VT I wish Stoops would go after their Special Teams Coach. They terrorized teams blocking punts, running kick offs and punts back for touchdowns. Always solid.

I've tried to give him time but I think D J Elliot needs to have other responsibilities, a demotion. The only game we had very effective pass rush against was Missouri. QB's that could run killed us.

I have seen our player profiles with height , weight but through my eyes UL was bigger and stronger than us. I might need new glasses but not to watch TV. Just my opinion.

Just what is a football AD?
Really ? I have to explain that to you ? Oh let's see ,Look at our past history of A.D.'S former basketball players and coaches . Hagan, Newton , etc. Someone who understands that the football program is the Wealth Generator of the University . An A.D. that has a football back ground and wants to build up the program .

1) A strength and conditioning program that works.
2) D and O linemen that succeed in the conditioning program.
3) A better play book and someone who is willing to call those plays.
4) And hire a special teams coach and bring along a punter who can flip field position.
