I'm not talking about upsets (6-3 over Bama, the Final Four run). I'm talking about games where the other team totally outplayed us, we didn't bring out A-game, we were totally lackadaisical...yet, at the end of the game we were ahead.Which ones were the biggest (in any sport) for you?

My two biggest games:

-1999 Egg Bowl: the university of Ole Miss dominated us for over 3 quarters, yet we somehow pulled that one out of our ***.

-1994 Tennessee: We were totally outplayed all day. I remember griping and complaining about our effort the whole game. Yet, somehow we won 24-21.

Ole Miss completely dominated us for 3 1/2 quarters. I think we had something like 5 first downs the first three quarters. But after O stupidly decided to go for it on fourth down at midfield, we flipped the switch. Thanks to a Pegues punt return TD, a couple of dropped passes by Ole Miss receivers, and Adam Carlson's longest ever field goal, we had a miracle 17-14 win and O hit the road.

and it was about damn time (81, 83, 97, etc.). Didn't recall the UT game being so bad (although we did get a pick 6 from Brandon Stewart that helped). One that sticks out to me is the 99 Aub game. Played great defence in general but had no offence til the end. Or how bout that Memphis game (85) where Cosby kicked the long game winner?

the '99 game at Auburn. Grindle catches a pass over the middle in the 4th qrt when we are down 3-16, and then promptly fumbles it to back to auburn. Final 18-16 MSU

I'll throw out the 2006 (I think) slugfest with UAB where we pulled it out in OT. Actually, almost any Crooms win had the feeling where we were outplayed and got lucky.

Probably the Snow Bowl is the greatest ever, but I also remember a Thursday night game against LSU in the mid to late 90's that we sucked throughout and miraculously managed to win at the end. My boss was walking down the street in front of my house and the next day he said, "suddenly you were yelling "yes" over and over," or something like that. Don't remember the exact details, but pretty sure we were outplayed.

Or so it seems. I seem to recall a lot of games on the opposite end of the spectrum, where we outplayed our opponents but managed to lose.

That won it for us. Josh Booty dominated our shutdown CB's with the short passing game and basically shortened the game for LSU. The score at half was 10-5 LSU after Eug. Clinton blocked a LSU punt through the back of the end zone. I think final was 18-16. LSU was awful that year. That was the most hushed MSU crowd walking out of DWS after a win than I've ever been to.
Rod said later that he still has no clue whether he actually scored or not.
