realize that in today's social media driven world that one should behave him or herself anytime there is a camera or recording device present. Bill OReilly is just the latest casualty. Some of us have made sexually risque comments in our lives....admit it now........but we are not famous with the media following everything we do, and most of us have enough sense to control ourselves, which these numbskulls evidently can not do. Is it that fame and celebrity make one think they are invincible or are these guys just stupid?

Stupid is as stupid does. Whether the men are conservative or liberal, we're still men and men do really stupid things with their johnskin!

I think fame and celebrity have something to do with it ... they get into a little bit of power and control and then try to use that to get with women that otherwise would have nothing to do with them.

Having said that though, I've worked in fast food, I've worked as a mechanic at a chemical plant, I've working in hazardous materials handling, I've washed dishes at restaurants, and then after college I've been working as an engineer. I've never seen it in any of the engineering jobs I've had, but everywhere else I've seen all kinds of innappropriate comments and behavior were all over the place .... so I think it's really just pretty common, but you don't ever hear about it if it isn't a celebrity.

Celebrities can be a weird bunch. They can be very self-obsessed and narcissistic. They get a taste of being treated differently, special, and they run with it. I can easily see someone like O'Reilly think he's got carte-blanche to hit on every woman he comes across.

Maybe if we could hear some of them talking without knowing people are listening, we would find out. I bet they'd say something like: "when you're a celebrity you can do anything you want to them, and they let you". I bet they would talk about going after married women, sexually harassing and assaulting women. The dumbasses would show the world how egotistical and entitled they are, and how little respect they have for the rest of us. And then they wouldn't be able to fool us anymore!

I tell my kids, assume you are being recorded 24 - 7 wherever you are. That mash up they did from all the store cameras when investigating the Boston marathon bombing awhile back was an eye opener.

I see what you did there.

Honestly, most men I know are loose with the tongue in the company of other men and booze. Most of us with wives have wives that just roll their eyes when we are that way. As I tell my wife, she should be damn happy that have 10 years of marriage, I still find her attractive and desirable enough to want to lay her down as often as she'll let me. I could be out hunting mid-20s cooze.

Professionally, I never realized it, but the office is about like a dating site. We've had more than a couple of our VPs leave their wives run off with their admins or some other person in the company. Lot of inner company divorces and marriages. Lot of affairs. I don't imagine FNC is any different than any other large corporate environment.

Ego, arrogance and limited intellect in some cases make these stories inevitable, and quite entertaining.

I haven't. I've made comment about how women look, what I'd love to do to them, maybe....not about how I force myself on them and they like it. You have that kind of ego too?

You also don't work in the entertainment industry where pseudo-famous people get blown just for an opportunity to be an extra on some show, let alone being mega famous and having these ****** in the business just looking for the first breakout opportunity. Having lived in Cali for a while and spending a bit of time down in Hollywood, it's unlike anything I've ever seen. I watched a chick go backstage in an Usher concert, do what she did, and then come back out to her boyfriend and was shocked that he would be pissed. As she put it "I'm trying to catch my break". Women in that industry have zero self esteem as they are coming up. I understand what Trump was saying in the context of the entertainment industry. He's probably right, he could walk right up to them and grab them in the box and they'd just giggle and try to capture a role on his show.

Decent point. But the man's ego is as big as anything he's got going on, you have to admit. And I'm not ok with the way he passed the whole thing off as typical male locker room talk.

Mike Pence was the recent butt of jokes in some Leftist media because he refuses be alone with another Woman who is not his Wife.

Many on this board joined in calling him some sort of pervert. Guess he knows a lot more than some Leftists want to give him credit for?

1. I agree about his ego. No question. 1 work though: Billionaire.
2. It was typical male locker room talk. Maybe my view is slanted, I've heard some horrific **** in the confines of a fighting hole in the desert or during an 8 hr convoy. Lot of **** gets said that wouldn't play well with people just looking for an excuse to be outraged. JFC, there was a facebook page dedicated to posting naked pictures of the barracks bunnies.

no....the comments I've made were "hey I'd like a piece of that" or that nature...not what these numbskulls are saying/doing. My point was that we all in at least some small way have acted like that.......some of us can control it and some of them can't

I think most men who spent anytime around a lot of other alpha males laughed this off knowing it happens all the time and has even more colorful language.

Why do you dislike alpha types?
It's not the "type", it's the self identification as such. Strength is always something to be revered. Leadership is a skill and ability that does the world a lot of good. But when self identification becomes all about being the "alpha", imo, ego and self glorification can cloud the judgement of good people. Working together is better than competition for the top slot in many situations, as a former soldier I'm sure you know that more than I do. I've found a desire to lead, but I've also found that there are times when I should resign to supporting roles. A healthy self identity and confidence is good and necessary. However, ego can run wild really quick. Once it gets out of control it can be the downfall of great people. The illusion of never being vulnerable or in need of support is dangerous. I think the greatest leaders in history realized this, and most had source of strength from someone outside themselves. It helps if we recognize this, and not pretend that men are divided into 2 categories only. I've led, and I've followed, and found peace in both decisions.

I've also had situations where I've led and regretted it, and when I've followed and regretted it. Balance is key. And communication is easier when egos don't get in the way.

IMO - you asked

A lot of people have enormous egos. Some people learned to varnish it. Trump doesn’t.
