WRH,East Duplin,Washington,Clinton,St. Pauls,Edenton Holmes,SWO just to name a few. Havent heard much from Northeastern but im sure they have something brewing up that way. Only one division now 2A East playoffs should be entertaining with alot of good match ups

St. Pauls or Randleman.
[/QUOTE]

Neither one of them will make it out the second rd. I can tell your knowledge on the east teams is very low

Clinton WRH or swo will come out of the east.

Wonder what happen to goober? He disappeared just like I predicted. Sad hes a fare weather fan. He loves NE, but only when they are good lol

The east is pretty wide open:

clinton, wrh, St. Paul’s probably are my 3 favorites.

Then I’ll throw, northeastern they still have freshwater and fletcher, defense should be solid. Also like, Washington, Cummings and Holmes, east duplin.
Clinton, wrh , St. Paul’s and northeastern could be preseason top 10

I'm taking Clinton to come out of the east this year. Won't sleep on Edenton though last time they competed in 2a they played for the state title. Wallace rose hill you can never count them out either.

I feel Northeastern, Clinton, St. Pauls, Washington, West Craven, SW Onslow, Wallace-Rose Hill, and East Duplin are probably best suited for coming out of the East.

I also think Holmes will be solid and well-coached, SouthWest Edgecombe will be tough, and Hertford County will certainly be athletic. Kinston lost a ton of good players and will have a lot of fresh faces, but I also think they'll be very athletic and a tougher, more seasoned team come November.

Hope NE is back in the mix. Maybe goober will come out from hiding. East will be wide open this year.

Northeastern and Clinton are my two favorites, but given the strength of those others I mentioned, you are going to have to be battle-tested this November and December.

Think you're right brother, whoever comes out the east, will definitely be battle tested.

I'll say Clinton, Northeastern, and WRH are early favorites. You have to keep Northeastern in the mix until someone in the east beats them in the playoffs. Remember they have only lost to Reidsville (now back west) the last 3 years in the playoffs. My nephew plays in VA and I had a chance to see Northeastern at the Virginia Union 7 on 7 this summer. They still have athletes everywhere and even beat VA perennial power Highland Springs. I really like Kanye and WRH though and they may have the best shot at taking NE down but we'll see...Football is here!!

I agree….that one of the teams mentioned in this post will come out of the East.
The “Friday Nights” poll had Cummings ranked in the top ten. Truly….a head scratcher!
Could Cummings with Jonathan “Johnny Paycheck” Paylor make a run?

Just for the record….Goob called….said you can lock it up! 😁

Cummings will be much better if for no other reason than the fact that they won't have to face Reidsville in conference anymore. With the exception of opening up on the road against Western Alamance, they play a fairly weak schedule so they should rack up a lot of wins. The question is, can they build up enough momentum during the regular season to be a formidable force in the playoffs? That's the million-dollar question.

The first 3 games will tell where Cummings is

I was about to ask about no mention of Cummings till I read this. I assumed nobody mentioned them because they might be thrown west. I guess not.

it’s mainly cause they’ve been down for a decade. But, I think they will be right in the mix with the rest of the east.

Thought cumming would go west? They always were western years ago, when they had a squad with bo. Swo beat cumming in title game 03

Is Cummings really supposed to be that good? I don't know, man. I just can't put a team that gave up 74 points to Smith in the top tier. I will say that I'm glad to see them relevant again.

None of the above. Don't sell wrh short. We have alot of core players returning.
I'm interested to see how Northeastern will be compared to Clinton? First Clinton loss to E Randolph in the playoffs and then Northeastern blasted them 41-0 next round. I've seen NE several times this Summer and I assure you they are better than Last year!!

The ER game is very misleading due to players missing for ER and the game being at 1:00 pm which was ridiculous for the ER kids to have to deal with. Clinton will be very good as always and they should be with Northeastern, WRH, and St Paul’s as the favorites in the East.
Cummings will be improved but a tier below those teams imo. My money goes on NE and WRH

Curious to see how Tarboro, the Nor’easters and Holmes fare against Rocky Mt. in non conference play.

The Rocky Mt. measuring stick could give us a clue on just how good y’all are!

We will scrimmage Kinston and JH Rose tonight at West Craven. While I like to see people pick is to do good I'm going to take the wait and see approach. I thought our QB came of age in the later games last year. He's a junior this year if my memory is correct. We have our 2 best players unavailable all week so that is a huge hole to fill. Glad it just scrimmages but I would love to go to the Onslow County Jamboree with them. NE, Clinton, WRH, ED are all teams that have proven they belong. We have to do that again. It's been a while. Washington I wouldn't pick. They don't belong. They took advantage of the virus last year to avoid us. There is no reason we couldn't have played our game with them. I hope when we play this year our kids remind them of that!

Yea. I just hope all these affected kids from all the schools do ok with it. I'd hate to see a kid lost because of this.
