but there ain't but one way to turn things around and that's by recruiting well. Last yr was a good start, and surprisingly this yrs class will turn out ok. It's always fun to come on here when ya'll think ya'll have lost a recruit like Ward to us (even though it hasn't happened). Comments like "well he and CJ can throw up the landshark sign together during 30 pt beatdowns". As if those guys, along with the 2 rs freshmen DTs we started last year aren't going to be any better. Then in the same breath ya'll are convinced that you'll easily replace a guy like Cox because of your highly ranked recruits and current players having 1 more yr's experience! Guys like Autry and Ward make defenses better. It's ridiculous to say that Autry will make ya'll better but Ward won't improve us at all, lol

The big difference in our DL and yours it that your DL is absolute hot garbage. Almost every team you played last year posted the Offensive player of the week, even Kentucky. KENTUCKY! There is a big difference in reloading and rebuilding. Y'all will be rebuilding your defense, and yes experience makes a big difference but you are almost starting from scratch. And you'll be rebuilding that D with a D Coordinator that was asked to leave an ACC team.He couldn't cut it in the ACC. Ga Tech would have these 8 min long drives get aTD, and their opponent would turn around and score in 4 plays. it was attrocious. Ask any Ga Tech fan, he was despised and run out of town. (I live in Atlanta and work with mainly Techfans, trust me he is terrible)

Maybe I'm wrong, please give me the name of the defensive difference makers on your team that will be there next year.

If our juco guys turn out to be good...
Our back-up tailbacks are as good as our starter....
We are reloading on D after losing NFL talent like Cox and Banks....
If Nickoe is the same player when he returns from major injury....

I guess anything could happen, but you don't get better by losing great players.
Alabama lost a starting quarterback, a Heisman trophy tailback and a wideout chosen in the top 10 in the draft and is better this year than last year. That is because the overall team is better. More experience, better in other areas, losses at positions that had depth, etc. It is possible to lose a great player at ONE position, and improve by being better at other positions.

Everybody will lose players. It happens every year. It's college.

If our juco guys turn out to be good - correct - McPhee, Slay, Leon Berry, etc
Our back-up tailbacks are as good as our starter - Dixon to Ballard
We are reloading on D after losing NFL talent like Cox and Banks - KJ Wright, Chris White to 2011 Defense - not much of a dropoff
If Nickoe is the same player when he returns from major injury - still uncertain.

faith in our coaching staff to get the job done. We will see but I think I am right. I felt like we would struggle on the offensive line this year and boy did we once the injuries occurred but somehow we had a decent year, not a great year granted but a decent one. I just think we will be a better all around team next year.

No flaming, give me some real talking points. Because right now I don't see it.

No SEC caliber QB
No returning RB's
O Line is terrible
D Line is terrible
Secondary was terrible
WR's were bright spot, but losing yet another (grades may take even more)

Is 'Basketball on Grass' your saving grace?

You guys speculate that a guy who has never played a down of SEC football will improve your D-line, but will argue that a yr's experience + an entire off-season won't make a difference for the rs and/ or true freshmen that started on our defense last yr. Take CJ for example, he has never been through a college off-season. He played pretty well toward the end of the yr. How much better will he be after a college off-season? Who knows, but it's logical he will be somewhat better. Same with our other young guys. Or any team's young guys who are thrown to the wolves. I read an article about Cox this yr going back and laughing at his play when he was a freshman...now he's an All-American. Well we had 3 freshmen start on our D-line next yr. Will they turn out to be Cox-like? Don't know but they were all as highly ranked (CJ higher) as him coming out of high school.

On the D coordinator, good experienced players make good defenses. Ask Nix, even he was good when he had good experienced players

Got it. Everything is speculation. What is not speculation is a 1-15 SEC record the past 2 years.

No SEC caliber QB - ya'll didn't have one this yr. Ya'll did ok
No returning RB's - Scott hopefully returns. Hopefully a recruit or two steps up. Much like Ballard did for ya'll.
O Line is terrible - we'll see about this...don't know, but probably true. Spread O should help. Weak Ol + Pro-style O = disaster
D Line is terrible - we started 3 freshmen here. Hopefully they'll be better as sophomores
Secondary was terrible - got good athletes here...maybe we can rush the passer next yr and help them out
WR's were bright spot, but losing yet another (grades may take even more) - Brassell has a chance, but he has to do it. You're right Moncrief is NFL type

The momentum can swing quickly. Remember 2008, you guys were coming off your 7 out of 8 losing seasons and a 45-0 beatdown by in-state rival. Ya'll made a good hire and recovered quickly. We'll see if we do the same

And frankly there is no 'speculation' in what I've said about our D Line, or defense. We've lost a number of NFL guys last year and our D performed nearly identical.I'm sure you said last year that our D Line wouldn't be as good since we lost Pernell McPhee (who is a stud rookie). My argument as to why our D Line could be better next year is that we also have so many guys returning that played valuable minutes and the addition of Autry.

Can you not come to terms with the fact that your team only won 2 games last year, and the Defense was a huge reason for that? Your young guys will gain valuable training during the Offseason but you can't argue where they are starting from. Obviously your defense will be better than it was this year, it can't get much worse. You surely aren't expecting them to become world beaters in just one offseason are you? What kind of foundation do you really think is there.

so. Your boat is a lot smaller and is leaking like hell right now. The big difference in the programs right now is you have been loosing a large number of players over the past two years with more to come in the near future and we have been hanging onto most of our players and in fact red shirting most of them, this is huge. Freeze may end up creating an environment of discipline and family but we already have it and if he doesn't get there then you guys are not going to go upward very fast. The programs are at very different places right now and while I know you won't admit it, it is simply the truth. Now if we can just hang on to our coaches and withstand the recruiting attack that is about to unfold we will be in fine shape for the future.
