I seem to remember a story a few years ago of a guy that gave candy to kids at games. Is this the guy? And if it is or isn't, who the hell is he? Bitching about a coach knowing that his wife is in earshot is uncalled for and cowardice. The only things that can come from it are negative. If someone needs firing (not saying that is the case here) then they will likely be handled at the appropriate time and I won't open my mouth about it except among friends and then it will be kept among us. Not that i'm important enough to make waves or anything, but people just need to learn how to act.

Candyman has been to every state sporting event I have ever attended. I am almost 99% sure of that. I remember him the most from the 2007 CWS where he got a entire segment on the local news in Omaha regarding his bag of candy and his cowbell. I've seen him at the SEC Baseball tourney waving maroon and white towels. Once you have seen him, it is easy to pick him out in a big crowd.

Surely somebody has a photo, but he has been around for a long time ...

Really, really goofy middle aged guy who runs around throwing hard candy into the crowd. The next time you're at a State baseball game, go to the chairbacks on the 3rd base side and wait a minute. You'll see or hear him pretty quickly.

If that's who they mean -- I didn't witness the event, but when someone says "candyman," this is who comes to mind.

Alright before this turns into a witch hunt I will say what I know about this guy from experience. He's a super douchey goofbag that tosses candy in the stands when State scores and runs up and down the isles trying to get people to stand and cheer. He will try to start the Maroon White cheer about 50 times a game. He is super 17ing annoying but he does NOT appear to be the type of person to scream at the coaches wives. Can this be 100% confirmed before you guys kill this dude. He has attended every single baseball, football and basketball games for the last decade or so. Just make sure the story is correct is all.

^^^^ THIS. Someone needs to get in touch with Candyman. Being one of the most dedicated MSU fans of all, I just don't see him blowing a gasket at a coach's wife. There has to be more to the story.

Hell, he made it through Polk II, Stansbury, and Crxxm, and he still has as much enthusiasm as he does about MSU sports. Well, I guess that actually proves something must be wrong with him...

The guy in the pictures... The actual Candyman, mostly keeps around section T for the football games, definitely an East side ticket holder.

Agreed

If he sits in the same section he did a couple years ago, he's in section T ( on the East side, away from where coached wives would sit). He sat about 15 rows below my folks. This dude is a mega nerd. I don't think he'd be the type to scream at a wife for the fear she would beat him up. Something tells me this whole story is fabricated or just misinformation.

I was introduced to him when I was a freshman at state and was at an exhibition basketball game. He came around with that bag and was giving it out. He trotted on past and I was like WTF? Do I need to take this over to the vet school to check for razors, roofies, or some other **** in the x ray?

after that I saw him pretty much at every sporting event. It's almost like he lives in the basement at the Hump.

He may be extreme but at least he dedicated.

That SOB has more passion for MSU than probably all of us combined.

The story isn't fabricated. While it may or may not be the candy man (I believe it was), the story is true. I didn't intend for a witch hunt for any particular person or group of people, but whoever they are, they are real ********. That's all that matters.

He's such a goofball the few times I was near him --- back in 2009. I can't believe he'd be the one getting into it with a coaches wife.

He could certainly annoy the piss out of her with his constant cheering, but that's about all.

He was in Section F about 15 min before the game started. That guy must walk the whole stadium.

I don't know the guy personally but I can't imagine he would be publicly getting on the coaches. He seems like the genespage type and would get pissed at someone yelling at our coaches.

Wait A Minute

Candyman is 100% true Maroon. He is one one of the most decicaded fans MSU has ever had. He does everything in his power to promote school spirit. There is no way he would do anything that would harm MSU. It seems to me a lot of you are reacting without knowing what really happened. Someone makes a bad comment about someone and everybody jumps in. Just not right.

I agree. I had no idea who the candyman was, but I have seen this man at nearly every MSU game I've been to it seems forever. I can't imagine that he would be the one singing "goodbye" to Coach Wilson's wife or talking negatively to her at all for that matter. We need to be certain who the man was doing the talking before we ruin the image of a true bulldog fan, no matter how he goes about being that fan.

And again, if it was or wasn't him, he should've been the one that had to leave the stadium, not the wife of one of our coaches. That is just plain ridiculous.

Not a mistaken identity, this confirms it...

When I posted about Chris Wilson's wife yesterday I was going to say that it seemed the be the candyman that was in the group of people chanting, bickering at, whatever. But I wasn't positive that it was so I didn't. This is pretty close to a confirmation

I've sat in the same area as him at MANY baseball and basketball games... winning and losing. He is as loud and as obnoxious as I've heard, and he can be a smartass, but even in the absolute worst games I've seen (and I have heard him yelling at games where we were playing MUCH worse than we did saturday)... he has NEVER said anything derrogatory directed at a coach, a fan, a parent, or a player. Period. He'll poke fun, nag the officials and the opposing players, but I will stick up for him like the others who have. He has never said anything that would make me think that could possibly be him directing that kind of behavior at an MSU fan... much less a wife of a coach. Opposing fans, absolutely (nothing uncalled for or rude... just normal "we're beating your ***" fan talk), but never anyone wearing maroon and white, despite the performance on the field. He loves his university and it's people. It's not hard to see.

I've sat amongst him on East side in years past and echo same sentiments. He's..

an odd one for sure and off his rocker but no mistake he loves and supports State sports. No telling what kind of money he's shelled out over the years. I've also seen him at many road games. And like others have said, I personally haven't seen him do anything except get on the other team a little and cheer his *** off for the Dogs. For those reasons, some of you need to be real sure you're talking about right guy like this publicly and be sure you've got facts straight word for word over whatever it was that happened. If he was indeed the guy and if the ordeal was as serious as some are making it, I'm fairly certain he's well known enough around the athletic dept that they'd uncover it and handle it.

I couldnt read this with a straight face. I was standing next to the poor sum bit17 when UK beat us on that stupid end bounds tip in. He sat in the middle of the isle, on the stairs with that fu17ing bag over his head, candy spilled all around him. I just know he went home and wore out his World of WarCraft account. Make no mistake, he knows every coach's family tree but i doubt he is smart enough to cut them down.

It's not even good candy either. Can't he splurge the extra $2 and get some 3 musketeers or snickers? I bet if he was chucking the good candy nobody would be falsely pointing him out as the 2nd gunmen on the grassy knole. What's next? Radio beat up Bully in the bathroom at half time? What about the nice guy that cleans up the tables in the student union while he argues with himself, did he throw a whiskey bottle at the Stansbury boys? #WeBelieveCandymanDidntDoIt #Hail Candy

Same tard that yelled BRICK while the College of Charleston's point guard was shooting a free throw. We were up 76-50 with 2.6 seconds left. Same wingbat that damn near tore the top off the dugout acting a godda17 fool when homeboy hit the grand slam. Same fu17stick that yelled "GO TO HELL BIN LADEN" during the national anthem back in 2001, I bet.

And all of you guys are cool as rockstars. You criticize people (call them blue hairs) for sitting and not cheering and the criticize a person for cheering too much. The guy might go a little overboard, but at least he's not sitting at home, watching the game on TV and bitching about the players, coaches and fan support. I would rather see him at a game than the majority of our students, who are quitters.

It absolutely doesn't "confirm" it.

I sounds to me like someone fitting the same general description of the candyman was acting like an inexcusable *** in the stands, but unless someone has photos or video, there's no reason for anyone to believe it was actually him.
