Mt. Airy.... they've are already got rings picked out and sized.
I think we’ll definitely be in play, but there is a big difference between this year’s Tarboro team, versus the last four. Truthfully, I feel if Edenton was still in 1a, this could be the year that could get past us.
Got to be Reidsville or Shelby right???

Could be the most amount of contenders we have seen in years. Of course, Tarboro will be in the conversation in the east, and Eastern Randolph and Mount Airy look like the frontrunners of the west, but North Moore has an explosive offense, and could challenge the Vikings. Murphy, Robbinsville and Swain are NEVER out of the conversation. The biggest question right now is, "was it a fluke?" Honestly, I dont know if Andrews is that strong, or if Mitchell just had an off night. They blew 3a Erwin (who just beat Brevard) out of the water, held their own against strong 4a Lake Norman, and ended 4a Watauga's 30 game home win streak. The Mountaineers performance has spoken for itself, up until friday night, which has me leaning toward Andrews being a team to be reckoned with. I guess right now, I'm going with a little of both, so I will throw both Mitchell and Andrews into the mix of contenders. From the west. Which is already loaded to the gills. Buckle up folks, its gonna be a wild November.
Really guys? Mt Airy is just trying to win the next game. We should not even be mentioned with the "real" contenders! The Bears are called the "Granite" Bears because we are slow and young and inexperienced and, of course, our coaching (all 11 of them) staff is suspect. And with East Surry moving up to 2A, our league is just barely in the middle of the pack. Just saying!!
MA is fast for their area but they don’t have E Randolph or Thomasville speed.
Just keep on winning is all we can do we win through conference play we can draw a low seed and get home field atleast but you have Covid to contend with also which scares me more than the competition it could spell a conference loss or playoff loss to any of the best teams
N Moore cannot beat any of the top teams head to head. Not enough defense and they have not beaten anyone decent. I think Thomasville will be 8-1 and not an easy game for anyone, but probably not the title contender from the West.
MA has always been a big fish in a small pond. Once they get into the big pond it’s a different ball game.
It seems they did in 08 prlyes we are fine you mountain folks seem to hate when we get rolling and the reason you do is usually your teams have to climb out of the mountain and come to our house out of those mid 20 degree temperatures during the playoffs ask Murphy how they faired last time they came down or Swain
You may be right you may not be depends on covid status that week not only athlectic ability out of the East I would pick Tarboro . Heck all the top contenders could be shut down

In 2008 MA played in the 1a not 1aa, IIRC. BTW Elkin has about the same temperature as MA….lol

I am saying that it wouldn't surprise me for it or another variant to be a pressing issue until at least then. Just my gut feeling. You can write in the rest.
I will say this whoever comes out of the west will be battle tested that's for sure.
