Is it outright support for giving the Dawgs the best path to Atlanta? Is it the Death Valley record? Is it the fatigue of hearing about the Tide's unsupported superiority?
Maybe Alabama isn't the best team in the country (that would be us), but here's the deal:
Bama has the no. 2 rush defense in the country, allowing 78 yard per game.
How is LSU going to produce offensively when they don't have a serviceable quarterback? They are a ONE TRICK PONY...see the Ole Miss game.
As previously discuss, this was the definitive weakness of the OM defense, and they still only scored 10 points. Give Saban a one-dimensional opponent and take notes.
Sure Bama's secondary isn't as strong as in previous years, but Jennings is a below average SEC QB. Let's face it.
Meanwhile, Bama can run right at LSU (whereas OM could not), allowing for the pass game to supplement the ground game.
Bama has a mitigate for LSU's core strengths (secondary and rush offense), whereas OM did not (no rush attack, undersized on the front).
I don't get all the love. Death Valley helps, but the matchups don't support all of the conviction. I'm guessing everyone is just tired of hearing about Alabama being so great.
Perhaps LSU gets lucky, but they only win if queued up by Alabama mistakes. a.k.a. An upset.
We'll be playing a 1-loss Tide team next weekend for the marbles. Just the way it's gonna be. Looking forward to it.
