Probably even more so than other positions. In general about half the offensive linemen we sign will never step on the field. Just in the last 5 years we've signedRedmond, Joey Trapp, Sam Watts, Templeton Hardy, Phillip Freeman, plusotherguysthateither never or barely made it onto campus--- Jenkins, Merritt, and AlfordI think were there names. Could also add DJ Looney to that group. He had to quit before his SR year.
Some don't have SEC talent, some justquit, but quite a fewhave injuries that keep them from reaching their potential. These big guys can have something like a nagging backinjury that forces them to give up football. I think that's why OL positionsare something youhave to over sign.
