Seem to hang with the big boys and we can't? Michigan only up by 6. Penn State only up by 6. Iowa beating Wisconsin. We lose by 25 to Penn State. I know teams get blown out, but it seems like teams rise up more than we do.

Yes...........it does seem that way. But then you get a game like we had with Maryland last year. Seems to be a motivation factor which usually comes down to coaching and team leadership. Army certainly looks more impressive than we were against Penn State.

Well Texas spends, hasn't helped them. It always gives them the opportunity to bounce back though. Window never closes on them IMO. Money helps no doubt about it but it's not the end all be all and the B10 money isn't a bottomless pot of gold. Got to be smart on how you spend your resources.

I agree, but everything changes for RU in June 2021 when the big B1G money starts rolling in. Until then, I thank my lucky starts that my school is a member of the best conference in the land.
Idk why we can't spend against future earnings and just pay it back. Could help us immensely.

They have awesome facilities in all sports and are winners in most of them.

Yes but they just fired recently fired the coaches in the their 2 major sports. I'm not saying money doesn't matter I'm saying it doesn't guarantee you results. Other name programs with money fail too. Money is important like I said and if you have as much of it as Texas the window of opportunity to bounce back is always there but it's not the only factor. Just getting that full share of B10 revenue doesn't turn us into winners. It helps a lot but there are other factors necessary.

Yup, they can buy this guy out and make a guy like John Gruden an offer he can't refuse.
They can always ignite a fire.

Right! I think it comes down to the energy on the team and with the fans, definitely lacking. I'm still tryna wrap my head around how we lost to Wazzu...momentum shifted to us completely at the end there

Not sure what game you guys were watching. Wazzu whooped RU for the majority of the game, slicing and dicing the defense and stifling the offense. If it weren't for the heroics of Janarion Grant it wouldn't have been a game.

Sure i don't disagree to either but i'm not much of a what if man...the DB didnt catch it and Janarion did keep us in the game...that doesnt change the fact that we let the momentum slip in the last 2 minutes of the game

What game were you watching? Our offense moved at will, only being hamstrung by untimely turnovers (2 of which were in their territory). Just because Janarion Grant scored on 2 ST TDs doesn't mean our offense wouldn't have scored on those possessions.

Defense, yeah, that was to be expected. But the fact of the matter is we could have cinched the game on several occasions despite losing the turnover battle 3-0 and didn't.

Large part has been our defense, which has lacked developed depth and talent since 2013. That was supposed to be different this year until the imbeciles for robbery were identified. They need time in jail to reflect on what f*ck ups they were.

Everyone knows the answer to the question posed by the OP. We have a minor league coaching staff at the three most critical spots: HC, OC and DC. All had no prior experience at their respective posts and all had less than stellar resumes. And all three were internal promotions that would have had no other offers for similar posts at other colleges. Until we invest in big time football, playing in a P5 conference is just a façade. I see many more major beat downs on the horizon.

At least Maryland went back to true form and was shutout and lost by 28 ... At home.

Indy up by 10 ... They will probably lose, but wow, must be awesome to start like that.

Uh because they are better than us ? We have to look at our team realistically not just as a homer.

Get real. Does this Wolverine team resemble those coached by Hoke? Harbaugh doesn't even have his type of QB playing yet. I wouldn't count on the team getting worse, as the season progresses, ala the past 2 coaches.
