Interesting all I do is keep quoting the rule, all whinyI refuse to take anyone serious if they can't admit that the Shazier hit on Bernard should have been a penalty.
If that's your take then you're either too stupid or too biased to participate in a discussion.
Interesting all I do is keep quoting the rule, all whinyLouisvilleBengals fans can do is gratuitously insult
Isn't that special? Quote the first sentence, leave out the second. Let's look at the whole thing, shall we?You keep mentioning incidental contact but I don't know what rule you're reading because incidental contact isn't mentioned...
Rule 12, Section 2, Article 8: “It is a foul if a runner or tackler initiates forcible contact by delivering a blow with the top/crown of his helmet against an opponent when both are clearly outside the tackle box.”
Isn't that special? Quote the first sentence, leave out the second. Let's look at the whole thing, shall we?
Rule 12, Section 2, Article 8. Initiating Contact With the Crown of the Helmet. It is a foul if a runner or tackler initiates forcible contact by delivering a blow with the top/crown of his helmet against an opponent when both players are clearly outside the tackle box (an area extending from tackle to tackle and from three yards beyond the line of scrimmage to the offensive team's end line). Incidental contact by the helmet of a runner or tackler against an opponent shall not be a foul.
When Bernard turned, lowerd his head and made contact wtith Shazier, that made it incidental contact. THAT IS THE RULE. Please let it sink in.
I'll apologize for any undue harshness as to quoting the rule, but Bernard definitely made contact with Shazier. They made contact with each other, that's what incidental contact is-as opposed to a tackler having to take somebody down that's running away from them. Bernard caught that ball turned and headed straight upfield to get as many yards as possible and try to muscle past Shazier, they went straight for each other, Bernard wasn't trying to get away.Never saw the second sentence anywhere that the rule was posted. So I will concede that point.
Ok. So who/what determines incidental? Because you're a fool if you think Bernard "lowered his head and made contact with Shazier". Bernard turned around and there he was.
I didn't say he initiated it, they hit each other, Bernard was moving forward, toward Shazier when they came together. That's all it takes.Totally delusional. "Incidental contact"? Bernard "lowered his head and made contact with Shazier"? So Bernard initiated the contact? I've heard it all now.
Dude, did you even see the video?
Shazier put his head down, led with his helmet and knocked Bernard unconscious. That's "incidental contact"? Really? You are so totally beyond the realm of reason that I not only question your sanity, I question whether you even exist in this dimension.
Incidental contact. Wow.
Incidental contact has nothing to do with that hit, there you're talking about taking out a defenseless receiver. Now I personally hate that rule, thought it was a beautiful hit, didn't see anything dirty about it, but it was a penalty according to the rules. So by your definition of incidental, Burfict's hit on Brown would have been legal if he had the ball in his hands.
AndGotta love Steeler fans. Ungracious in victory and defeat.
If you watch the video, it doesn't look like Burfict was even watching the ball. He was preparing to hit the receiver, which is what he should have been doing. He was running full speed and when the ball passed over Brown's head he took two steps and made contact with Brown. Brown's effort on the ball brought his head down to where it was in the contact zone. There is no way Brufict could stop or could have intentionally tried to make contact with Brown's head. There just wasn't time. Even the Steeler's linebacker Harris said it was a clean hit. He said by rule it's a penalty, but he said there is no way in that situation to pull up and not make contact. It happens to fast. He thinks the rule is stupid when the hit cannot be avoided and I agree. It should be enforced when it appears to be intentional. The fact that sometimes it is strictly called and other times not, makes it a poor rule and makes the NFL less interesting to watch. The biggest difference in the two hits to me is the fact that Burfict didn't lower his head until the ball had already passed Brown. That's trying to hurt someone.
It's a damn joke you idiot, it damn sure doesn't mean they gave him a game ball, you'll just believe anything you read on the internet- geesh
And by the way, even while he was out there it wasn't him antagonizing the Bengals, it was the other way around. He's out there checking on Brown, didn't have any contact with any of the Bengals--then ******* #1- Burfict accidentally smacks him in the face but he still doesn't engage them, just turns around and starts talking to the refs then ******* #2- Gillberrry like the coward he is comes up behind him and shoves him in the back, then he starts jawing with them and ******* #3- Jones decides he wants to go all Walker Texas Ranger on one of the refs to get to him and the rest is history.
Gotta love Steeler fans. Ungracious in victory and defeat.

Since learning that I've been a bandwagon fan for 40 years, I just wanted to say it was fun being a part of the BBN but I'm going to have to start rooting for Vandy. I can be in downtown Nashville in an hour but would take me over 4 hours to be in Lexington.
Porter is no angel, no denying that. But he never cost the Steelers a playoff game for being thug trash like Burfict and Jones did.
Here's an even better video of the whole thing. This is correct. Video proof of Gilberry shoving Porter below.
Bengals have absolutely no one to blame but themselves. Live by the thug, die by the thug.
Dirtiest guys around, huh? The Steelers put real friggin' heroes on the field like Rocky Bleier and Alejandro Villanueva. Closest a Bengal ever got to a hero was when Vontaze Burfict spit on a guy wearing a camo jacket. Not sure why this is hard for Steelers fans to understand, but the Steelers have always been known as the roughest, dirtiest guys around.
You cannot possibly be this detached from reality. Good grief, your takes are beyond delusional. He wasn't trying to get out of the way, He barely had caught the ball and turned. You are insufferable.I'll apologize for any undue harshness as to quoting the rule, but Bernard definitely made contact with Shazier. Barely caught the ball and turned, didn't try to get away or didn't have a chance to, was headed in Shazier's direction as a runner---that makes it incidental contact. ESPN had a rules official on right after the game who said it was absolutely an illegal hit, that he led with the crown of his helmet, and that it should have been called. I think you are the one who needs educating. He also said that he thought the refs did the best they could at the end of the game, not that they got everything correct, but they did the best they could considering the situation.Barely caught the ball and turned, didn't try to get away or didn't have a chance to, was headed in Shazier's direction as a runner---that makes it incidental contact. You couldn't educate a squirrel to like acorns. Your own words show you are clueless. He didn't have time to get away. The defender used his helmet to spear him. Your tired Louisville reference shows your intelligence level. I would never support a team that just moved into my city from someplace else looking to make a buck.
Why would I put you on ignore? You're one the of most hilarious guys on here. You are a waste of time. Please put me on ignore. It's obvious you are mentally challenged.
Well congratulations on your one rules official. I've got Mike Pereira(you want to talk investments you go to Warren Buffett, you want to talk NFL rules you go to Mike Pereira) and Mike Florio PLUS I'VE GOT THE DAMNED RULE. It's incidental contact so IT'S NOT A PENALTY!!!!
