This is a serious question. I don't want to hear that they are being objective, they aren't. By they I mean Marcello and Locke, the MSU beat writers for the 2 newspapers that actually cover MSU sports heavily. I think by now it's a fact that those 2 do not report objectively, but root for bad news, and temper the good news. They also show no respect for MSU with their tone. If you are in the camp of "that's their job", just don't reply. I disagree with that view, and I don't want to debate whether or not it is in fact their job. <div>
</div><div>But why do we sit back and allow it to happen, while our biggest competitors, even USM, have writers that pimp and promote their program? It is no wonder why Gene's Page is the best MSU site on the internet (we may not all agree, but the numbers and paid subscriptions don't lie). It's positive, but yet you will still get the bad news too. Nobody wants the bad news glorified. Why would we? Something is wrong with you if you do. I think some of us take the MSU humility a little far. We really need to stand up and demand writers that, at the very least, don't slander our school. </div><div>
</div><div>Maybe they want more readers? Either way, they've both lost me as far as their blogs go, and anything else where they can infuse their opinion. I don't want to hear their opinion. The newspaper was so much better back in the 90's where you had to flip to the opinion page to read that ********. But at least you had a choice. </div><div>
</div><div>At any rate, what do other fanbases do to put a hold on this? Or do they? Maybe I'm missing something, maybe Auburn's beat writers are just as horrible. I just haven't noticed it, but I don't really read many other teams' columns.</div>
