Symbolic gesture IMO. NU can afford the bonuses, it's not about the money. It's about trying to show that 5-7 is bad, coach do bad, no money for coach. I don't think it will equate to any missed meals given the cost of living in Lincoln...
Legally, SE would have to allow the bonus, right? This is Riley and his staff turning them down, correct?
English translation anyone? The bloner is trying to make a point, but who knows what it is now?One thing to consider here with us accepting a bowl bid:
Depending on when the game is played we could be the first team in college football history to lose 8 games in a season -
Holding that record is alone reason enough to consider not going

sorry meant bowl team -Ummmm...I think lots of teams have lost 8 games in a season.
what it means Einstein is that since this is the first year of expanded bowls and first year a 5-7 team can go to a bowl we could be the first bowl team to end up with a record of 5-8English translation anyone? The bloner is trying to make a point, but who knows what it is now?
Thanks. Your angry agenda is clouding uour ability to post.what it means Einstein is that since this is the first year of expanded bowls and first year a 5-7 team can go to a bowl we could be the first bowl team to end up with a record of 5-8

@JohnRossEwing did Pelini receive his bonus for (cough) "winning" the 2008 B12 north division?
Gotta love when a post in a thread doesn't even address the topic or move it forward.
Good to see a simple gesture like this by SE/MR. With SP you would've seen a opaque answer as to why there'd be no bonus - ringing of his hollow vision most could see right through.
Did they even win it?
Gotta love recycled trailer trash.
And no mention of Osborne paying Pelini in 2008, recycled trash gonna recycled trash
Not sure how a post like this adds in a meaningful way to the discussion.
@JohnRossEwing did Pelini receive his bonus for (cough) "winning" the 2008 B12 north division?
I'd guess that Eichorst gave Riley the option of 1) No bowl game (SE declines any invitation, like Missouri already did) or 2) Accept a 5-7 bowl invitation, but forgo bonuses.
Pretty simple decision there.
So...why was it in "" with a (cough)Gotta love recycled trailer trash.

I wouldn't of asked the question otherwise, not surprised you didn't care in 2008 but do now.
Recycled trailer trash.
Pelini's original 2008 contract

Any interest in moving the thread forward when you respond?
For example - Would be interesting to hear a response contrasting the SP era with SE.
Nice spin, but the athletic department came out early and said no invites would be declined.
Recycled trash go recycled trash.
Would you like to add a constructive response giving your thoughts contrasting SP/SE on this thread?
Recycled trash gonna recycled trash.
Do you want to move this discussion thread ahead by discussing topics like SE vs. SP?

How does this comment promote further discussion on the thread topic? I've suggested things like SP vs SE, for example.

Does this comment add to the topic at hand in a meaningful way?
I'd like to move this discussion forward by hearing your thoughts on SE vs SP, per my earlier comment.

How does this comment promote deeper discussion on the thread topic? Things like SE building goodwill with the fan base with the bonus gesture is a point I'm interested in.

Do you think it would have happened if HP wouldn't gotten any pushback on extending SE around the MSU game? Or if we'd have controversially lost against Iowa?It should be obvious.
