We had a mediocre Instate class this year, no four stars in the State really but we feel we did very good in the area we usually struggle in and that's WR/DB, lots of pretty talented guys among those three stars and the 19.
Additionally, we grabbed an interesting RB, a complimentary QB and a couple of 3/4 DEs to go along with the 4 star linebacker.
Not a great class but the WRs/DBs/athletes have potential to produce for us and we have a lot of young players already in the system.

It is pretty obvious that Wisconsin is more worried about winning the actual “game” on the scoreboard...not winning at subjective recruiting rankings. Wish Nebraska would do the same. :(
No it's obvious they have more talent in that state then in lincoln for their core players they avg 15 division one players a year to Nebraska 4 And players from Wisconsin are usually snubbed in rivals ratings. In Wisconsin case there classes are always under ranked by rivals Wisconsin also has the number one ranked walkon program in the country due too them having more talent in Wisconsin.

To a degree, yes, development, but the truth, I believe, is that the "Start" system is so far off after your 5 stars that IMO, Wiscy just does a better job of identifying the "3 stars" that likely are probably better than that and they have a lot more in state talent as stated above. HS football in NE is a joke outside of a few schools, overall, compared to what it once was. We need a staff that can identify talent a little better.

Wisconsin does a much better job of developing their "under ranked" talent than Nebraska does.

As far as Wisconsin having more talent in the state than Nebraska...I didn't hear Nebraska fans complaining about this issue from the late 1960's-2001.

Iowa and Minn are offering more of the kids we usually get as walk ons.
Iowa for instance, this season has verballed three kids who Wisconsin didn't offer but who all have big time potential.
2 OLs in the 6'6 range and a RB who might end up a very good safety OT even a linebacker.
Certainly, the 2 OLs would have been walk ons had Iowa not offered.
