Lol. Do you really need to clarify that MOST of his rushing yards came on one play?? Really? You missed the point. If we had to throw to win we would not win. Period. I didn't hear a rebuttal to that point.......... Let's wait til Ohio St shuts the running game down n GW has 39 yards passing n see what u say then. I want Rutgers to win but for people to ignore glaring weaknesses just because we won is utter nonsense. Oh n langon dropped 2 n Dremel dropped one...could probably find 2 more if I reviewed the tape. All were intermediate throws..just going off memory watching the game..
The whole point of the OP was to discuss his great running game.

Why bring up his passing at all? There are many other threads where that would be a suitable comment. Why immediately downgrade his breakout running game here?

Tim Tebow won the Heisman with a career sub-50% completion rate with FLORIDA'S talent all around him.

This thread was about Gavin's running game which made great strides in this game and, hopefully, he will bring that kind of effectiveness to future games.

Really? I seem to recall Randall Cunningham running for 200+ and it never being mentioned as a record. I guess I'm
misremembering.
Cunningham rushed for 124 yards in a game against New England in 1990. 200? Nope, he wasn't that good 😉

Lucas was running for his life and had no weapons. Guy had a reasonably successful NFL career, he certainly didn’t “suck”.
that's absolutely not true, he had an AA TE, two fantastic RBs, quality receivers and a very good O line

you revisionist are comical. Lucas was always fighting for the starting job because he was not a passer and like Wismatt will do, hurt us more than help us when needed.

Why can't people be supportive of young 19 year old who has led us to a Bowl Game???
Yes, he has few things to work on but be supportive so he can get better. Kid is 19 years old... So much time to improve. Don't be a JackAss and say, he sucks/take him out/ bench him, all these BS ****.

He has led us to 6-2 record!!!

This kid has more upside than any other QBs on our team. If he gets better with his percentage (not all his fault), yes we will be better team. But you can say that about any player on any team. If this player gets better at this, the team will be better. No **** Sherlock!!!
It's still not like we are 2-6! Be appreciative of where we are and be appreciative of Growing possibility of this team...

Settle down. I’m not revising history, I was thinking Marco was gone his last two years - I made the truly unforgivable mistake of not looking at the rosters and stats before posting. I was wrong. He had weapons.

Still wonder why he had some success in the league if he was crappy…
