.So pregame. They showed some Auburn - UGA. OK. Teams warm up. FMB does their pregame show. 10 minutes plus left before kickoff, and.....10 solid minutes of one commercial after another. There is no cable or sat TV channel that shows more commercials in 10 minutes than we saw in pregame. I hoped we were smart enough to meet some quota early so we could legitimately use our board later. Wrong.

All game long, every timeout...COMMERCIALS. There was no game awareness at all in the use of the video board. COMMERCIALS COMMERCIALS COMMERCIALS.

And when there wasn't a commercial, it was time to get in the quota of family friendly things - Kiss Cam, Future Bulldog (show cute kids), etc.

No game context, no game awareness. Just relentless COMMERCIALS ALL GAME LONG.

I know we ***** about this a lot. But trust me tonight was different. It was RELENTLESS AND PERSISTENT. The the point of being embarassing.

I've never liked commercials. But this was different. This was enough to make me not want to go to another game.

Video board guy should not have a job on Monday. This was insane. Something was up. I'm not sure what. Maybe we had a quota to meet. Maybe the regular guy was sick and a Learfield guy filled in.

Guys...it was ...I'm out of words. I've never liked it, but I've ever been actually pissed about it. It was just a new level of COMMERCIALS ALL THE DAMN TIME

I propose a new NCAA rule: From 20 minutes before kickoff until 20 minutes after the game is over, the only thing allowed to come over the PA system is the PA announcer and the referee.

No the worse was when it was a critical third down and we played the freaking bulldog shuffle game to distract everyone from the third down play

Add to that the bright blinding ads on the ribbon boards. I'd actually be happier if they took those down. The bright yellow, green, and blue ads give me a headache. I'm fine with just the floating Ms.

I thought the board was basically the same all season. Constantly bombarded with something - whether it's commercials or bulldog shuffle. Our stadium has turned into one big advertisement.

I know there have always been ads at games, but now were blinded and deafened by them.

The worst was the media timeout after our TD to get to 10-7, Mercedes Benz, cowbell bulldog, and that horrible Columbus ortho commercials. NO MUSIC or anything. Just crowd killing ****. We need to buyout the contract for video board production from learfield. What they do is garbage. It's something that so easily could be fixed.

That was AWFUL. The crowd was in the game and then on comes the bulldog shuffle. And the thing sucks the life out of the entire crowd because anyone who takes part in it has to concentrate on the board...... In complete silence....... Sitting down. All to yell. THREEEEE!!!!!!!!

And during the Maroon-White cheer? Three rapid fire commercials that almost seemed to be planted to purposely quiet the crowd. It's freakin awful. I'd give another 200 a year just to cut the advertisements in half.

Did you see how many times the video board and pa killed the team?

Per game they were getting hyped and they cut the music to let the band play. Buzzkill.
Then the team did the final punt and was grouping up. The pa announces joe blow for blah blah blah. Never mentions the team. The players even run to the students and no mention of the team or music.

The video board and game is so scripted that it never yields or aids the team in any way. I felt like the team got completely pooped on by the game management last night. The team was actually trying to get the crowd in it but the commercial-tron and pa douche would never allow it or aid them. no home field advantage.

This is is what happens when a marketing major is the ad. They use a game as a marketing/money opportunity not to as a chance to help the team win the game. Have to find balance, but first priority should be the team. That is why we are there. To the players, I apologize for the gross incompetence of our ad. You were doing your part last night.

It's not going to the worth the money, time, effort, etc. in the future for me for that ******** atmosphere. Dan's football has been blah enough and when we completely destroy an atmosphere it warrants a grill and couch Saturday.

Congrats Scott. Show those ads to an empty new stadium. You are in over your head and should resign if you love the University.

It's not stricklin. It's learfield. They own the rights for the production of the video board which was negotiated under Byrne. I honestly think the ath dept just needs to buy out the advertising contract for the video board. Then they can run it how they see fit.

I can't remember it being this bad under Byrne. Seems like it has just gotten this way the last two years.

Strick did did hire the inept pa guy though, correct?

Stricklin tweets...

@stricklinMSU: @CroomDiaries IMO, big board should enhance, not dominate, game experience. We’ve crossed that line. It’ll get fixed

You and your facts mess up the "FAHR STRICKLANDZ AND ERBODY" narrative that so many of our fans seem committed to.
