Cohen didn't do that. That's already Strike 1 for Cohen's 'assurances.

Strike 2 will be when Cohen bucks the booster's when it comes to the next coach. Or scenario 2, they hire a coach with less than optimal Cohen buy-in.

Strike 3 is when that coach falls out of favor, or in scenario 2, when Cohen loses control.

Rinse, repeat. You don't just step in and 'control' boosters that rogue. Either you're one of them, or you simply do what they say. Either way you ultimately get fired, by a scandal or they make you fall of the sword for them.

You folks don’t get it. Cohen has this all planned out and he’s falling on the sword for dear ol State. He’s going to hire Kiffen away from ole miss and ruin their momentum then Kiffen is going to get caught in an uncomfortable position and AU will have to fire him and face possible NCAA sanctions. He will slay two loathe some rivals with one blow!!********************

So it appears they also fired the offensive coordinator and tight ends coach. Cadillac Williams will be the interim coach.
