At Miami? They are undefeated and ranked number 7 and there are maybe 15,000 people there

The locals don't support their football or baseball teams.

It's that way every game. No matter how good they are.

They show up decently when they are a title contender, but your premise is absolutely correct...

I wonder how much fan support was hurt when the Orange Bowl was demolished basically in downtown Miami and they moved 15 additional miles out to the suburbs to Dolphins Stadium? It's also about 25 miles from Miami's campus -- instead of about 10 miles.

Its a lot like LA, in that a lot of the people that live there aren't from there. People there didn't grow up cheering for Miami they're from New York/Jersey. It's a terrible sports town though, no defending that.

Looks like they're counting tickets sold, not actual attendance, like we do. Today's crowd there is bigger than some I've seen.

Sec fans don't understand it but in some parts of the country people just aren't as obsessed with college sports. Like when we played ucla in the series state fans were shocked at how few bruins showed up....um, its bc they live in california and there's just a tad more things to do out there for leisure activities.

Except only 300,000 people actually live in Miami vs LA that has millions on millions in the city and surrounding area. No one lives in Miami. At any given point probably half the people in Miami-Dade are tourists. Would you visit a Hurricanes game on your beach trip?

We're talking about a town 1/2 the size of Memphis, and at times Memphis had trouble supporting ONE professional franchise. UM could be ranked #7 and no one would show up at Autozone either.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say but there were 2.5 million residents in Miami-Dade county per the 2010 census.

No kidding, and that doesn't even begin to count Broward and Palm Beach counties. That area is population galore.....Memphis is a baby compared to south florida
