I agree with most of that but at least they are sending Mcmg to aaa - bloated rosters were better when you had house shows

Anyone see the glitch during Smackdown that showed Bron Brekker as entrant 1?
That was a bad screwup, but largely inconsequential.

Also I rest my case on Rusev. Should have learned to do a job in AEW you moron.

1/1 so far Liv was so obvious choice to win.
One of these years they need to have a top NXT person win it, use that as the chance to call them up in kayfabe, which means brand new main roster contract making a lot more money. Really increases the stakes of it for the people in NXT. Also allows them to make a story beat out of it that they got a big payday, brings some of that prize money type stuff into the mix.

It’s such a layup of a story to run with if you have the right person for it. Like imagine if they had pushed off Oba Femi’s main roster call up in kayfabe and had him win the Rumble. Like just look at him, he’s instantly believable as a winner of a Rumble.

Now time for the bathroom break match. I like AJ, but Gunther is starting to be forced like Roman was 2015-2019

I don’t believe this is AJ Styles real retirement match if he loses, but I’m tuned in for it just in case.

Now that I’m watching on TV instead of clips on Bluesky, it’s really jarring visually, when the go to shots other than the hard cam, how the seats look so empty. It clearly does not sound like seas of empty seats, so I assume it isn’t. How did the Saudis accomplish that?

Don't necessarily hate him. I think he's good, just boring. I don't love to hate him or anything, I just don't care enough about him either way like they want me to. Them making him retire all these people isn't accomplishing what they think it will.

I agree but hhh likes to play it safe - best you prob get is Roxanne last year being runner up or SOL getting final 3.

Ah okay. So Gunther is to you what John Cena was for me

Funny thing is that Vince treated NXT like a bigger deal than Triple H has and HHH was booking NXT for a while.

Remember when they had that brand battle PPV years ago and NXT got some Ws? Think it was before AEW existed. NXT wrestlers will never get a chance at winning a main roster PLE match anymore with how few matches get booked unless they do a Rumble win or an NXT showcase match on a show like Mania that tends to have bigger cards.

I’ll keep it up to see if Jericho returns and for Hobbs to debut - I’m speculating there, I haven’t seen any reports so I’m not posting spoilers - but I can’t listen to anymore of Cole and Barrett so tv going on mute

I refuse to believe he really wants to retire in freaking Saudi Arabia. So TNA, I’m sure he’d love to give back to them for all they did to catapult his career.

Yeah their men’s NXT roster has never been the same since they stopped relying so heavily on indie talent. The NIL route really isn’t really working out anywhere near as good for the men as it has the women. Probably why I read they are going to be recruiting more from the indies this year.

I've come around to being OK if AJ Styles ends up in AEW. Not going to say excited or anything but there's enough gas in the tank there that he could have a good in-ring run over in AEW. I don't want anything wasted though. If he's going to have a match it needs to be against someone legit. I don't want to see any BS like AJ Styles vs. Angelico. Get the two biggest dream matches of Omega and Ospreay out of the way before someone gets injured.

If Gunther is the new 'career killer' as they put it, having Styles last match against him is a good one, just too soon. I said a couple weeks ago here WWE played their cards too soon sending AJ out at the end in January on a PLE overseas. He'll finish up in TNA, maybe even have a title run and beat Mike Santana for the TNA Championship.

I just think they have this idea that Gunther retiring all these people is going to make him have all this nuclear heat and people are going to tune in to see him, and I just don't think that's going to happen.

I don't disagree. A Brock/Gunther match needs to happen this year, it's long overdue. It will be lazy, predictable booking though if Gunther ends up retiring both Lesnar and Jericho in 2026 given everyone he has retired since last summer.

There really are an obscene number of commercials, ad reads, video packages, and filler segments during WWE PLEs.

Wonder if they changed plans after the graphic mistake last night or if Bron wasn't supposed to be #1 to begin with?

I do like these lower third graphics they are using for the intros though

I would've done the Styles thing differently. Have him say in '25 that since Cena's about to retire, everyone is wondering if he's next. Play it up like Styles still wants one more title run and all that and then bam, it's over today. It's not really killing careers when these guys are literally saying it's their last year. Going to AEW would be neat I guess but WWE has goodbye merch for him. He's signed a Legends Deal imo.

SRS said months ago if WWE were smart, they'd treat Oba like Brock in his first year. Didn't he beat Rock for the title like six months in? Gimmie that Brock against Oba spot within the half hour.

That was a weird way to introduce Hobbs. Like you're going to recognize his previous name and then give him something completely different with zero explanation?
